Rating: Summary: true adventure Review: I have collected books from the early 1900's and late 1800's, not for money or collecting books for future gains, I truly enjoy a good tale. and If you can read any book read a book by Haliburton, he was truly a great adventurer. Sorry I am drunk off Sake, but this book is a true book of early adventre that rings out, ADVENUTRE!!@!!!!! When I die I want this book to fuel the fire that burns my body becase it is a beautiful book. Read it and enjoy the zadventure of a man that is full of romance that has been lost to the 21st centry.
Rating: Summary: Horizon Chaser Review: I read my father's copy of this book about ten years ago and it has been one of my favorite books since. I was surprised to learn that my father credits it with encouraging his many travels. I was also surprised at how much of the book he remembered after having read it 40 years prior. Halliburton's book has been an inspiration to me and I'm so glad to know that I am not alone.
Rating: Summary: Remember your youth while you have it Review: I read this book when I was just a kid. It was the best travel book I have every read. It stuck with me all of these years. I tryed to get a copy for years and just found one at King's Book Store in Ferndale, Michigan. I did not know that it had been re-issued. About 50 year ago, I read an article in True Magazine an article by a pilot who said he flew Haliberton to Mecca. The book is outdated in some of his attiudes, but still a great travel book.

Rating: Summary: This book awaken me to life's possibilities Review: I was given this book at the age of 12 by a neighbor. If I look back at all the things I've done, all the places I've gone and the things I've seen, I can atribute all of it to the spirit this book awakened in me. It's tragic that it's no longer in print, a loss to all those that have never seen the world through Halliburton's eyes.
Rating: Summary: It opens the door to adventure and romace Review: I was given this book in 1938 when I was 12. It has changed my life. Everywhere I have travelled, I have searched for adventure and romance and I have found it. During WWII in Europe, during business travel, and after retirement in trips all over the globe, retracing Halliburton's steps. Visits to the the Taj, and Petra were alive with the spirit of his words, which I carried with me on thie visits.
Rating: Summary: At the top of my list Review: The Royal Road to Romance is by far one the greatest books I've read. It has placed im a yearing to just leave and see the world. This is a must read for all adventurers. Share this book with everyone. It deserves far more attention than it has recieved and is a classic
