Rating: Summary: 5th edition of Wells Gray Park guide published Review: A revised and greatly expanded 5th edition of Exploring Wells Gray Park was published in June 2004. Park visitors should buy the new edition because it has 100 more pages (now 350 pages total), 15 more hikes and trail descriptions, and 80 more photos. All the trails were re-hiked during 2003 and measured with GPS, so the information is all up-to-date. The book is laid out with detailed road logs along each of the five access routes to Wells Gray Park. Points of interest, historical anecdotes, viewpoints, geological stops and trailheads are all described in these sections. The hiking section has detailed descriptions of 65 trails ranging from short strolls to overnight backpacks. There is also a guide to canoeing popular Murtle Lake, a kayaking guide to the Clearwater River, and recommendations for cross-country skiing. The previous editions of this guide have sold over 21,000 copies and this revision is sure to be as popular. This book is a superb guide to anyone who wants to hike or tour British Columbia's fourth largest provincial park.
