Summary: Sorry to be so blunt but.....................
Review: I bought the book hoping to learn something more about sailing. The book is an entertaining read if you like 10 stories of bad storms at sea. No real wisdom is passed on. (except maybe to stay away from sailboats)
On the bright side, it is written in such a way as I did not mind reading it cover to cover and it would make good 4 hr flight reading material. Don't miss the fact that it is only 200 pages.

Summary: Daydream in a book
Review: A very nice read.. Will start you daydreaming about making a life on the water. If you don't mind the sick sweet love story that is tied in, the adventure is worth the read.

Summary: Pack your seabag!!!
Review: After reading this, you may be inspired to throw a few things in a bag and head for Fort Lauderdale, Florida (John says in his book that virtually every cruising sailboat on Earth passes through Fort Lauderdale at some point in time) to sign up for crew on a sail boat!! A really great read if you are in need of as "escape" from the daily grind. Beware though, it just may inspire you to chuck the 9-5 routine and take to sea! That's exactly what it inspired me to do, and I made a great bunch of friends in the process. If only every book I read inspired such great times!!!

Summary: It's not all glamour....
Review: Although I loved reading this book....in retrospect, I believe there are some comments I want to make concerning it....The writer has clearly and well...expressed the problems, difficulties, uncertainties, delays, and negatives of being a Delivery Skipper...yet...I came away feeling that he did not express the positives!!! Maybe we are supposed to KNOW them! Also, I felt the characters of Molly and Lesa were not developed in the least...and unfortunately, they just became 'names'...instead of souls... But, overall, definitely worth reading...there ARE some lines and situations in the book that are cleverly portrayed and very funny!! Like remembering why you don't need it anyway when it breaks!!!

Summary: For the love of the ocean
Review: Anyone who is fascinated by the "Buffet" lifestyle will love this book. It is full of tales of adventure and life on the high seas that land lubbers like myself can only dream of. This book provides the perfect escape for anyone who is convinced that God has placed them in the wrong place.

Summary: Salt Water Dreaming
Review: Before I wrote my review, I read all the others. Be assured this is a great book for people who love being on the ocean, and can enjoy anything that is written about it. If you're flicking through the channels and stop to watch the Bounty for the 100th time or salt water fishing, this book you will love. Every Captain that has spent anytime at sea can identify with every single circumstance presented is this book. To agree with one fellow, I hated when it ended. And heck, even if it was all made up, I'd look up to him, he's better at telling "sea stories" than me!! Enjoy, it goes fast!!
