Rating: Summary: Excellent for Disneyland Fans and Just the Plain Curious Review: This is everything the Disney Company doesn't want to advertise and more. It details the history of the park, goes in depth on sexual shenanigans, Disneyland worker pranks, gruesome deaths over the years, and just about every type of un-Disney-like behavior you could imagine. I thoroughly enjoyed this as the perfect companion to a trip to the Magic Kingdom in California. You simply won't know what it is like to work at the "Happiest Place on Earth" without reading this book. Trust me. It's a ride all on its own.
Rating: Summary: In the olden days Review: This book will tell what happened in the 60's and 70's at Disneyland. If you want recent stories dont buy this book.
Rating: Summary: Nice read, but a little dated Review: Seems like there are plenty of folks who are the hardest of hardcore Disney fans. I always considered myself one as well. BUT, this book had a little bias to it, and that isn't as much a criticism as it is an observation. This was especially clear in the labor relations sections of the book. Like many others, I felt that reading this book was fun and rather addictive. It is a simple book easy to read in a sitting or two. The style is more like listening to a loyal employee trying to be objective. The book attempts to be the insight and behind the scenes story of a company well managed and ever cautious of it's public image. What the reader must acknowledge is that it isn't that easy. Not as balanced as I would like, but the info is fun and informative. Reasonably priced too!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book Review: I LOVE Disneyland. I first went there when I was only three years old. Though most of my freinds have only been there once, I have gone many times (this could have something to do with my uncle living in Receda.) I have a dream to become an Imagineer when I'm older and I love all information about Disneyland I can find. After about three months of surfing the internet for information about Disneyland for 3 hours a day, I found This book. I now know more than more than I ever did and I love to sit and read it over and over. The pictures are great. A great book for anyone who has any interest in Disneyland
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: I've been to Disneyland countless times and have always been interested in learning unknown or little know facts so I decided to buy this book. I wasn't disapointed! This book was jam packed with facts and happenings in Disneyland and was very interesting. If you love Disneyland, you have to read this book...it was so good I had to buy the second one!
Rating: Summary: Five Ears Up! Review: Interesting, engaging, funny, and at times, very sad. An eye-opening look at what goes on behind the scenes at the "Happiest Place on Earth". A must buy for Disney fanatics, or trivia buffs!! (In short, it covers what's right, and what's wrong with the park, as well as a peek backstage.)
Rating: Summary: Think you hate Disney now? READ THIS! Review: A unique perpsective on the internal goings-on at Disneyland. Not a big shock to those who have a natural aversion to things Disney, but probably a kick to the head to the naive Disney fanatic who actually believes the Tragic Kingdom is the happiest place on Earth.
Rating: Summary: Best Book out there bout behind the berm! Review: I'm and ex cast member and Disney crazy girl... :) loveed the book and how it was written.. Sometimes at night when I'm tired and need a good laugh before bed I read it. :) I'm going to go order my copy of More Mouse Tales so I have another book to add to my Disney collection... this one sits between all the computer books I have because when I'm stressed it reminds me of home! GREAT BOOK!!!
Rating: Summary: Great book, but reveals a little too much of the magic Review: This book was very interesting and was hard to put down. It was so cool to hear the behind the scenes stories that you never get the chance to see. As a child growing up, Disneyland was an island unto itself. Having been to Disneyland more times than I could ever count, the magic is still there. Unfortunately, after reading the book, some of that magic disappears. I cant help but think of these stories that were told each time I visit in the future. It is a good book, but would not want my kids to know the behind the scenes stories. The magic of Disneyland is not knowing the reality of human nature.
Rating: Summary: Who Knew ? Review: This is proably one of the most intresting books I've ever read. It goes into the details of all the behind the scenes happenings at the "happiest place on earth". Some of the chapters were funny as well as shocking. This is a great book for anyone who wants to know the truth about one of the happiest places on earth.
