Summary: Fabulous.
Review: One word sums this novel up. Fabulous. Up until now my favourite Crichton was The Andromeda Strain. That book gave me nightmares. Now I have a new favourite. Built upon the tried and tested 'Time Travel' plot line I was pleasantly surprised to find that Timeline was surprisingly realistic and believable. I have to hand it to Crichton, I didn't believe he could pull it off. After starting with some trepidation I was soon drawn into the novel and its brilliantly imagined and conveyed plot. Talk about a rollercoaster ride. you may want to go back and experience it again, because this one blows you away!

Summary: Very Good but....
Review: An excellent book to read, but seemed a tad too much like he was writting a screenplay instead of a book. Definately a quick read as once the book gets going it never lets up.

Summary: Movie script, not novel
Review: I found it very hard to become absorbed in this book until the second half. It is written in a very choppy, episodic manner--as though the author was imagining the movie that will be made afterward. The characters are not very developed, and I kept mixing up their identities for awhile. Like a mindless Saturday night movie, however, the novel ultimately does entertain.

Summary: In Search of More Poetic Prose in a Thriller
Review: I am an author and I love thrillers. My biggest disappointment in today's world of adventure fiction is the inability to find a mesmerizing adventure constructed with poetic and living prose which allows me to feel the southern Louisiana heat, smell the toasted bagels in a Manhattan deli or wince along with the facial expressions of a lawyer caught ambulance chasing in the hospital room of a critically injured patient. While a better yarner than Turow, this author's works lack the sort of living color which fiction demands. I recently discovered an author who accomplishes this and a thriller in which he does it. The author is Gary Wickert, and the book is DARK REDEMPTION. I didn't find it yet on Barnes & Noble, but it has just been released and it is available on Amazon.com. If you like this author's storylines, but want to be riveted to and made love to by the prose which are the building blocks of any piece of fiction....READ 'DARK REDEMPTION'.

Summary: Sphere was better
Review: This book was ok..but kind of boring. It wasn't all that I thought it would be. I liked the beginning and all of the scientific stuff. However, I found the running around fighting knights deal boring and redundant..and unfortunately, that was the majority of the book.

Summary: My advice on Timeline
Review: I advise anyone who likes science fiction and history to read this book. I never put the book down, except for at school. I think it described the area of Dordogne very well, after seeing a TV show on it. The book has a very magnificant author. I loved this book.

Summary: Timeline-Read it in No Time!
Review: I started reading Timeline Friday evening, stayed up until 4:00 a.m., quickly went through my Saturday chores so that I could immediately get back into the journey Timeline had taken me on! I stayed home Saturday night literally going through every event in the story, as if I were a character, and did not leave this house until I had completed the book and truly was sad to see it end! I was exhausted at the end, feeling like I was a part of this story. On Sunday, I met with friends and discussed this high energy, mix of history, and adventure story and we cast the roles for a hopefully up coming movie! This was a fabulous book. I wanted more!

Summary: Timeline
Review: I really enjoyed Timeline. It was a book that just kept on going. I couldn't put it down. I recommend it. I think it was Michael Crichton's best book.

Summary: Timeline
Review: A combination of imaginable theory and historical records is never easier. However, made such an product recreational and educational is much more difficult. I think the author did a quite satisfactory job that only a few could accomplish.

Do you notice any explanation how a historical time were designated? I didn't find any of it. Another interesting thinking is that do you ever wonder what "historical research" Marek would do in fourteen century England or France, and if so, how? Due to his very unique position and situation in "history", he may suffer a lots if he want continuing his career as a historical scholar.
