Summary: Great...if you're heading to San Francisco
Review: I was looking for more information about Silicon Valley towns -- San Francisco was treated with so much detail (in terms of breaking down the neighborhoods and really detailing things to do in the city) it wasn't funny. Silicon Valley towns seemed to have just basic demographic information (and I only wish the rent prices quoted were that low today!)

Review: I wish the format was a little different. The book breaks everything down by districts & neighborhoods only, which I realize is very important, but provides little overall info. Apart from this minor flaw, I am really glad I have this book. I could have moved to SF without this book, but it sure helps to have some sort of guide.

If you are married and own a home and you are thinking about moving to the area, this book is a little value. Spend 5 minutes reviewing it in the store and don't buy it.Did not cover the east bay at all. Did not give any helpful information about the real estate market. Did not list churches in the area.

Review: Nothing about the San Mateo area, which is dead center of the SF bay/peninsula area. The title should be "Relocating to the city of San Francisco and/or Palo Alto". The yellow pages were more helpful.

Summary: Only worthwhile if you're single and moving to San Fran
Review: This book has a lot of info about the San Fran area, not as much about the Silicon Valley areas around it and it is not meant for anybody with a family that wants to relocate there -- more of a single person who is moving out there for first time. Gives a brief history of info of the counties around San Fran esp the East Bay, like Santa Clara County but not much of the others and may be slowly outdated by now.

Summary: First Edition Was Great!
Review: While I wrote this review prior to the release of the newest edition, I have to say that the previous edition was so comprehensive that I had a job and a place to live before I even moved from the East Coast. Sadly, I was forced to move back to the East Coast for a short spell, but I'm now in the process of relocating to San Fran once again. This new edition will make it that much easier.

Summary: A fantastic reference
Review: WOW - Ms. Guinot has done it again. If you plan to move to the Bay Area soon, you will want this book in your back pocket at all times. The author has done fantastic work incorporating everything you need to know into a handy refence that is easy to read.
