Rating: Summary: MORE VALUABLE THAN THE OWNERS MANUAL FOR MY NEW 5TH WHEEL Review: THANK YOU PEG FOR WRITING THIS BOOK. AS THE NEW OWNER OF A 5TH WHEEL YOU'VE GIVEN ME THE PRACTICAL INFORMATION I NEEDED BUT HAD NO IDEA WHERE TO FIND. IT CERTAINLY WASN'T IN THE OWNERS MANUAL! YOU COVERED EVERYTHING FROM HOW TO KEEP MICE OUT TO WHAT TO COOK FOR DINNER; FROM WHERE TO PUT THE GARBAGE CAN TO HOW TO HANDLE THE TAX MAN; FROM HOW TO WINTERIZE THE RIG TO HOW TO STAY IN TOUCH WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHEN ON THE ROAD. THANKS AGAIN.
Rating: Summary: Want to learn or extend your knowledge of RVing? Read this. Review: The subtitle of "Spirit of the Open Road is "the essential reference guide for Canadian RVers". Peggy has taken her love and knowledge of Rving and put it into an informative easy to read guide. If you don't even have an RV yet but are still in the "I think this looks like fun" mode you should read this book. Been around for a while and think you know all the tricks of the trade. I would be willing to bet that Peggy could show a you a few new ideas. There is a nice balance between "I knew that" and "wow what a great idea". My advice is to buy two copies. Keep one neat and tidy and loan it to your friends. The other copy will probably become frazzled and dog-eared from the countless number of times you use it as a quick reference guide. Whatever your level or frequency of Rving you will enjoy "Spirit of the Open Road".
Rating: Summary: Unbelievable!!!!!! Review: This book should be in every RV on the planet. If you are a novice or a veteran RVer this is the ultimate source of RV knowledge. Told with humour and experience, this book is a winner. The only thing I can say is buy it!
Rating: Summary: Spirit of the Open Road, by Peggi M Review: Whether you are new to RVing or have been RVing for years, Spirit of the Open Road is in fact Essential and the only Reference Guide RVers will need. When we started RVing a friend recommended this book and I am sure glad we purchased it. Spirit of the Open Road is always at my finger tips and is full of helpful Facts and tips; everything from saftey to what you should look for when purchasing a new or new to you Rig; budgeting for Full-Time RVers; important information to know when travelling across the border; and, the list goes on. The selling feature for me is the fact that the author, Peggi McDonald, writes about her and her husband John's personal RVing experiences. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work, Peggi & John!
Rating: Summary: If your home is on wheels, you need this book! Review: Whether you're an expert or novice, whether you're on the road every day or just for the occassional getaway, "Spirit of the Open Road" is a must. Filled with tips on everything from purchasing your RV or trailer to holding tank maintenance, Peggi's book is filled with useful in-depth information. Written as if by a good friend, you won't be able to put the book down. What's more, you'll turn to "Spirit of the Open Road" time and time again for advice and money saving ideas. Buy two copies, your first is sure to become dog-eared!
