Summary: Great Book!
Review: I've lived in Houston for 2 1/2 years now, and my husband and I bought this book when we moved here. We've done several "fun things" from the book. It's great to have when visitors come into town. There are many unknown treasures of Houston in this book. I highly recomend it if you live in Houston and are wanting some fun things to do.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Highly Useful, the best.
Review: I've lived in the Houston area nearly 17 years, but when my grandchildren came for a visit, I knew very few places to take them. I didn't want a book about elegant dining or trendy nightlife. I needed this book! It even gives driving directions!

Summary: Good, compact guide...but a bit dated
Review: If you live in Houston, or are simply visiting, this is a cool guide to use as a reference. For some non-Texans, some of the selections might be surprising, or down-right puzzling. Overall, this is a good guide, but I often find that some of the information included is somewhat dated. Make sure you double-check the information in the guide by calling ahead. There is nothing more frustrating than planning several day trips, only to find that one or more of the selected destinations are no longer in business, or are now operating with a new schedule. Still, I recommend this guide because it is very comprehensive and varied.

Summary: Very user friendly
Review: This book is a great help if you are in Houston for a short time or live here. It divides the sections up nicely as to what you are looking for and suggests activities/event/eateries. The format is easy to browse through, and even has nice handy maps to show you where all the places are (so you can see what is close). Very much recommended.

Summary: Great Little Book
Review: This is a great book to have when visiting Houston. It is filled not only with ideas of places and things to do, but also with suggestions to help make the visits more enjoyable. There is a chapter on places to go for outside fun like The Fishing Hole or Frio Country Cabins and Campsites. A chapter of restaurants of a huge variety. The Hobbit Hole Cafe, India's Restaurant, Quail Hallow Inn are examples. Adventure Bay Water Park, Aerodrome Ice Skating are a couple of examples of things to do. Theaters, operas, and ballets are also listed. There are suggestions no matter the preference in activities.

It is written so that a quick check will tell the reader what to expect, approximate cost, and if the whole family would enjoy the adventure as well as directions to get there.

147 Fun Things To Do In Houston is great to take along when making plans to visit Houston.
