Review: We were disappointed to find so many people at places they claimed would be secret and out of the way. The authors need to refresh the text with new areas and better organize the information. We supplemented with two other books we had along.

Summary: Traveling to Kauai Must Have
Review: This book is a MUST HAVE when traveling to Kauai. It tells you exactly what your getting (good or bad) for restaurants and hotels and it includes great maps that to see all that Kauai has to offer. It also has great travel tips down to the last detail (e.g. which side of the plane to sit on). Great Book!

Summary: Great Book, Great island!
Review: I have used this book during my visit to Kauai, and it is a great guide to steer you to the wonderful spots on the island. The book is written in a useful format that is easy to follow while you visit the island. The reviews of hotels and resturants are fair and are very helpful. The directions are wonderful and easy to use. This is what a guidebook should be like all the time. The pictures are wonderful and are an accurate representation of what you see during your visit. This book is a great investment before you go to help narrow down all the great things you will want to do on the island. The description and location of all the beaches was dead-on correct. I enjoyed reading it on the plan ride to Hawaii and have looked at it since I got back to give me ideas for my next visit. It is the best guidebook I found to Kauai!

Summary: Best Series of Hawaii Guide Books
Review: My wife and I bought this book when we were planning our wedding in Kauai. Everything in the book was right on the money. Because of the books recommendations we stopped and checked out sites and restaurants that we would have normally would have bypassed. All of the "Ultimate" guidebooks are a must for the Hawaiian Islands.

Review: These Hawaiian locals have a series of books covering each of the major islands. They contain far more information than any of the Hawaii guidebooks--extensive reviews of hotels and restaurants, as well as recreational activities. What makes these books stand out is their coverage of hidden or off-the-beaten-path sights. The book directs the reader to hole-in-the-wall shave-ice stands and to waterfall overlooks three telephone poles from the intersection with some road. We bought several books before going, but this was the one we kept in the car--it took us to many places that we might have missed (and other tourists did miss), but are grateful that we saw. It also comes with a link to a website for post-publication updates, which unfortunately we failed to check before leaving.

Review: Listen to me, this is the definitive book for information on visiting Kauai. Each time we visit Kauai, we find more and more gems this book has to offer.Have purchased numerous books on Kauai and this one beats them all by far. The authors walk-the-walk and talk-the-talk. There are other good books - but this one is the best. I have emailed the authors and they responded promptly and with the information I requested. Provides bonus info online if you buy the book. This book covers all 553 square miles of Kauai and visitor information you need including lodging, activities, sightseeing and dining. If you are a first-time visitor or a veteran; a beach lounger or an active-vacationer, this book has everything you need. It's a great prep book as well as a must-have reference when you are there. My suggestion: do not leave for Kauai without it. P.S. Don't turn your back on the ocean.

Review: My fiancee and I are getting married in Kauai next year. We've purchased every guidebook, and this one is the best that we have found. The accommodations review is especially helpful, especailly the online version that included photos of every property. A must have for the island!

Review: I was surprised by the inaccurate information within this book. More than once I followed the advice of the author which led to unsuccessful dining experiences. This book is in need of an overhaul.
