Review: We used this book for a weeks stay every day! We enjoyed the places to eat tips, the not to be missed items, and especially the maps, complete with mile markers. While driving, the humor was also fun to share. We learned to trust The Book absolutely, and built our days around it. It helped make our trip to Kauai unforgettable.

Review: Great resource for planning and for getting around on the island. I reviewed other books but this was by far the most detailed yet "user-friendly." I recommend this book highly.

Review: This book helped us get the most out of our 10 day holiday on Kauai. Especially, the frankness of price comparisons for activities and food. No other book that I looked at even came close to the amount of info that this book had. It includes very detailed maps for the hiking trails. They even have an online up to date website for any additional changes to the text from print time. Check it out.

Summary: good book--but be careful
Review: Lots of helpful tips, but be careful of some of them-- Queen's Bath, labeled in the book as a 'hidden gem' can be hazardous to your health! The book doesn't warn you about the dangers-- You can get big waves in this rock pool sometimes, and one guy drowned there last November, which we learned about from local people. You need to know more about some of the off-track places--otherwise a good book!

Summary: Best guidebook for Kauai I've read (I've read about 6)
Review: Excellent evaluation of places, shopping, restaraunts, activities, etc.; where the locals go vs tourists; contains good maps; Lists beaches by type and use; places to get snorkel gear (Snorkel Bob's). We used this guide extensively - and exclusively after a while - to plan our next day's activities. We use it every time we go there.

Review: "The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook" was the only guidebook we needed for our 7 day stay on the Garden Isle. We took the guidebook with us everywhere! And, we would not have experienced Queen's Bath without it! We would highly recommend this book to anyone planning to visit Kauai.

Review: I just returned and this book made the trip so much more enjoyable. There is no shortage of information when you reach the island, but I found myself ALWAYS returning to this book to make the final decision on dining, what tours to take, and what hikes to take. If you want to ensure a great time order this book.

Summary: There simply isn't a better Kauai guide
Review: The best book I've seen on Kauai, bar none. Wizard Publications has done this book up right, with full color photographs (expensive) and well thought out, detailed maps. My only criticism is about their overall graphic design, which is a little amateurish (but, hey, I'm a graphic designer). This book, however, is all about content, and there, it has a clear corner on the market. Can't wait until they get a Maui guide (*hint* *hint*).

Review: A great guide to the "real" Kauai! It lists unique out-of-the-way places to explore with specific instructions on how to find them! Be aware of those "Portuguese man-o-war" on Donkey Beach!!!!

Summary: Greatest travel book I've ever read
Review: Planning to spend a summer on Kauai, I purchased this book to begin my research on the island. Initially, I thought this would be the first of many books I would have to buy, but it is still the only one I own. Everything that is important about Kauai is put in efficient, insightful, and meaningful words. I highly recommend it to anyone.
