Summary: Driving and Discovering Oahu (Driving and Discovering Books)
Review: A great read; especially for first time visitors to this location. We found this book extremely beneficial in planning our daily activities. The author gives candid descriptions and excellent insights, while telling you honestly the best and the not so good places to visit. Following the books' suggestions you can make a wonderful circle around the island and not miss any of the spectacular offerings. A must read prior to and during your trip.

Summary: Great Guide for visitors interested in more than Waikiki
Review: A helpful guide for those who want to see more than Waikiki. Great for finding the best beaches, breaks, and sunset views all around Oahu. A must for any Oahu visitor who bothers to rent a car

Summary: Best Organized & Detailed Guidebook Ever Published
Review: After a week in Oahu with only Sullivan's book as a guide, I can't find enough praise to describe how usefull, accurate and entertaining it was. As a professional road warrior spending 250 days traveling, I can only wish the rest of the world's guidebooks were of this calibre.

Summary: A Must Have - But More is Needed
Review: As you can see from the previous reviews, this book is a must have. This book will take you to remote areas on the island better than any other book, however it does not provide information on restaurants, hotels or local activities. You will want to compliment it with a more traditional book like Fodor's for that information.

Summary: Hawaii in Living Color
Review: For almost the same price as the Revealed (Reviled) books, this gorgeous book has what it takes for touring Oahu. When folks come to visit they hole up in a big comfy chair with the book and then decide where they want to go. Pearl Harbor is always first on their list and then the Polynesian Cultural Center. The photography is unparalleled and the quality way better than any other guidebook on the market. They've kept the price low and affordable for most visitors and it makes a nice keepsake.

Summary: Oahu isn't just Honolulu
Review: Honolulu isn't Oahu. Came across this book is Haleiwa on the 2nd day of our visit. Spent the remainder of the week "off the beaten path" seeing so much of the natural, sparsly unpopulated Hawaii. With this bookas a guide we were able to spend time on beaches with no one else around; find alternate snorkeling beaches, trail heads and view spots. This book is a nightly read and is fantastic in keeping memories of that wonderful week alive. Next year's trip is being planned and more places on Oahu will be explored. This book is a must for seeing the most you can!

Summary: Great coverage of good and bad neighborhood features
Review: I enjoyed "Driving and Discovering Oahu." The author's realistic coverage of different neighborhoods was particularaly useful to me. The information in the "discoveringhawaii" web site provided even more information. And the maps were great.

Summary: indispensable for the motoring tourist
Review: I found this book at Amazon four days before I was to depart for Oahu and ordered it by overnight delivery. I am so glad it arrived in time for the trip, for it was an indispensable guide. I wish we had had more time on the island to pursue some of the byways listed in the book.

Summary: Must have book for Oahu vacation
Review: I found this book by accident on the internet while researching places to go and see while planning our Hawaii vacation. I ordered it and used it during our vacation. This is a great book with fantastic ideas of interesting and beautiful places to see and things to do. It also has detailed maps and beautiful pictures. We really enjoyed our vacation on Oahu and this book definitely was very helpful. We are planning another visit in a couple of years and I have already ordered the Maui book to help me plan. Planning is really important because their are so many things to do and if you have the information to make your personal choices ahead of time--you will get the most enjoyment of your visit to the islands. Aloha!
