Summary: Perfect Honeymoon
Review: I used this book while ...in Maui for 7 days. This book is perfect in all regards. We would leave our hotel in the A.M. with just this book, water, food and swim gear and we would have a great time the untire day. I would not try to go to Maui without this book, I belive that the main reason that our trip was so good is because of this book. In fact we are going back to Maui this summer, and the first thing I will pack is this book! Enjoy your trip!

Review: I agree with the reader from New York. This book contains more negative information than positive. It was disorienting and presented a picture of Maui that was less than real. Our style of travel (budget and independent) didn't fit into these authors' way of thinking. For the tour bus crowd.

Review: These books are the greatest! You will be guided to the coolest places to explore and enjoy. We especially like the Big Island and went to lots of off the track spots listed in the book, Hawaii, the big island revealed. I have purchased all of these guide books.

Summary: Absolute Best Maui Guide Book!
Review: We visited Maui in December of 2002 and found this book invaluable! The insider information and tips are terrific. The maps were extremely helpful and accurate. We especially appreciated the tip about the 'magic' show Warren and Annabelle's. We were sceptical about another dinner show, but after reading the author's review we bought tickets and it turned out to be the best activity we did on the island!The authors give you a web site to visit with lots of reviews on hotels and activities. They personally do the activities and visit the venues without revealing that they will be publishing a review. They are not afraid the publish the good and the bad, which has some of the locals a little upset. But all the better for you! If you're planning a trip to Maui, this is the only guide book you'll need! Aloha!

Summary: Great Book
Review: Maui is our favorite place to visit. We bought this book after we had been to Maui 2 times and found it to be a great help. The reviews are right on. We have found wonderful places on Maui to explore and visit thanks to this book. They also have a great web site to check on updates and hotels that coincide with the book.
The book is also just entertaining to read. The authors have a great style of writing. I give this book as a gift to friends visiting the island. I keep my own dog eared copy with all my notes for us. Not just another boring guide book.

Summary: Exposes the Hidden Gems
Review: This book is a MUST HAVE for Maui. The detailed maps and precise directions blow away those "other" books. Reading the informal style of this guidebook is like listening to old friends explain the island to you - except that these friends have seen it all. If you want a guidebook that tells you too "ooh and ahh" at 200 year old mission churches, skip this book. If you want a book that tells you to drive to the end of the island, stop at a telephone pole in the middle of nowhere and hike 30 minutes through a lava field to find the world's most amazing snorkeling, then this is the book for you. And there are a multitude of color pictures that show you what things are really going to look like - much better than the few black and whites some other books have. I was impressed that Doughty and Friedman were so open with the secret spots - the Fish Bowl, the universe's best banana bread, and the blow hole that isn't in those other books. If it hadn't been for this book I wouldn't have swam with a sea turtle, seen nearly the number of beautiful tropical fish swimming in the amazing corals, or had the daring to drive the spectacular roads this book coaches you through so expertly.

Review: This is an excellent guidebook with really good directions.there are sights I would never have known about-The restaurant reviews are somewhat dated though, buy it for the sightseeing.
There are separate sections for each area as well as for hiking, snorkeling, great beaches and excursions.

Summary: A Must-Have for Your Trip to Maui!
Review: We've been to Maui before, but this is our first trip with "Maui Revealed" in hand. We were aghast at how much we've missed out on on our previous trips to the island! This book offers great inputs on popular AND little-known destinations. The reviews of popular activities & dining is also helpful. We've had a hard time putting it down since we bought it! (and the photos are spectacular!) It made an incredible difference in our trip, particularly during our drive to Hana. The descriptions, photos, and detailed directions enabled us to experience some of the most incredible sights we've ever seen. DON'T GO TO MAUI WITHOUT THIS IN YOUR HAND!! (We plan to buy the books for the other islands, too!)
