Summary: The Absolute Best Disney Guide
Review: This 794-page monster, which almost reads like a novel, contains everything you need to know about every single attraction at each of the Disney World parks, as well as information on Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure. In addition to author write-ups and rankings of each attraction, resort, etc., they also include reader comments which are both very interesting and helpful (and sometimes funny). The authors give no-holds-barred opinions and tips on everything, and they do so with a sense of humor. This is one to be read cover to cover -- it's that good!

Summary: A must for you visit
Review: We have been to Disney 5 times in the last 8 years. We have used this book every time from the planning stage to the visit. If you are going to Disney this book is essential. My sister, who is a travel agent, recommended this book years ago to me because she used it on her visits to Disney.

Summary: Don't be afraid to buy yearly copies- info does change!
Review: I have used this book exclusively since 1994. I've been through about 3 copies- about to buy my fourth. Normally, I give to friends because the info always changes by our next trip which is usually every 2 years.
My family went every summer when I was growing up and some of the tips the book gives, like what the "unofficial" opening hours are, I never knew despite going 8 + times.
Another time, we used a shortcut to Splash Mountain to get ahead of the stampede at Adventure Land. Again, people for years have been lining up for the opening of Adventure Land(Splash Mountain)& also Space Mountain. When the cast members drop the rope, a mini marathon takes place.( they no longer allow you to run). I never knew this(RULE #1- Wake up early!)!! We had 2 strollers and there was no way we could beat the running teens ahead of us. The short cut tip was to cut through the restroom breezeway from Adventure Land to Frontier Land. I thought FOR SURE people would know about it, maybe from the book. We were the only ones to run through there and we triumphantly beat most everyone to Splash Mountain! I will NEVER forget that memory.
In addition, it's a pretty funny book. I do wish they would include even more comments from readers; so funny!

Summary: Even for a veteran, this books is great!
Review: Even though my husband and I have probably been to the World 40+ times combined (and are normally the fount of knowledge for friends making the trek), I picked this book up randomly to check their recommendation on a hotel - and I was amazed!! This book has some amazing tips even for those that have been so many times they have their own "guides" and plans of attack. The hotel reviews alone are indispensable.

One thing I would caution - do some research on-line at some of the recommended websites before you go. Even though these guidebooks are updated each year, they do go to press at some point, and we all know that things can change dramatically. (For example, the 2003 version of this book and other guides as well say that the early entry for Disney resort guests is no longer in play, when it in fact was reinstated on October 1, 2002.)

Overall, a great resource!

Summary: This is all you need!
Review: I purchased several "WDW" books for our trip to Disney! Trust me this one is all you need! The info in the book provided us with substantive tips on exactly what we would need, what to expect, how to prepare. Other books made general recommendations but this book was specific and we actually carried it with us during our trip and saw other parents carrying it as well. It was like our Disney bible. It was compact & concise and I can honestly say it helped make our vacation a success!

Summary: an indispensable guide
Review: I purchased this book for an upcoming trip to Disney and consider it one of my smartest buys ever! The guide gives unbiased info on all the attractions, restaurants, hotels and more. There's packing advice, money saving tips, even tips for the best viewing areas for the parades. These people are amazing - they've even put together touring plans using a computer program to figure out the most efficient order to do the rides! I think the best part though is the advice on how to save money. Disney is an expensive vacation no matter what, but this book tells you how to get great deals. I've already saved about $...on my hotel reservations! For a compulsive planner like me, (I have this 700+ page book flagged and underlined from cover to cover) this guide is indispensable! I'm now an "Unofficial Guide" addict and just purchased their NYC guide as a gift for my boyfriend.

Summary: An Unqualified Success
Review: I have used this book the last 3 times I have gone to Disney, and it has made my experience great. This is a MUST-HAVE for anyone who wants to see and do it all!

Summary: Honesty, humor and Information, Information, Information
Review: As one who hasn't been to WDW in many a year, I got this book to prepare for my vacation this year. The writers have left no stone unturned. Indeed, they pointed out many a stone I didn't know existed! The reviews of the restaurants were frank and most helpful in making plans for evening meals. I especially appreciated the notes on which rides would tax ones back etc. and which offered a "chicken exit". Often one finds these things out too late and the rest of your vacation is spent in pain. My plans are moving forward more smoothly thanks to the research and wit found in this tome.

Summary: Wonderful guide for both novice and veteran Disney visitors
Review: I purchase the new edition of the Unofficial Guide every year, and I find it to be invaluable in helping me plan my Disney World vacation. I have been to Disney World 11 times, and I still learn helpful info from this guidebook. This edition contains a good deal of new information added since the 2002 edition. For the first time the Unofficial Guide has the option for you to purchase customized touring plans for each park. I purchased 3 of these, and they were great. I received incredibly prompt, courteous customer service when I placed my custom plan order. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: great start
Review: this book is chocked full of intimate detials that it is hard to pass it up. It could use a few more details on getting discounts such as those found on places like mousesavers.com but the comparisions on hotels and restuarants and detail of the rides is great. Read it before you start planning.
