Summary: MAJOR TIME/MONEY SAVER
Review: Excellent resource when visiting WDW. I read it a couple of months before our trip and make an itenerary for each day there complete with restaurant priority seatings, childcare arrangements, etc. Mr. Sehlinger's is right on target with his advice, tips, touring plans, etc. This is too expensive a vacation to waste time being spontaneous. Don't visit "the world" without it!

Summary: invaluable
Review: I am a travel agent and used this book for my own vacation. I can not stress enough how helpful this guide is to anyone going to the Orlando area. It will save you time and time is money in disney. We were able to make itineraries based on the age of our child and what he would find enjoyable. I recommend it to all of my clients!

Summary: This Book Rocks!
Review: This is the best book you can buy on the subject. You will not be dissapointed unless you want to see color photos. If you are planning a trip to WDW, do yourself a huge favor and buy this book.

Summary: Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World
Review: A must read for both first timers and repeat visitors. Just got back from Disney and used the book this time. I have been there seven times and found it offers a very organized approach to touring the parks. Took the book with us and followed some of the touring plans - you can rip them out for pocket size and they really do work out well. Enjoy your trip.

Summary: The best way to see the most
Review: Having gone to DisneyWorld from Canada we wanted to get the most for our money. We found it by following this guide. We were able to order the book through Amazon before it was on the shelves and in time to help us. We followed the day plans closely and were able to avoid any long lines and crowds. The phone numbers for reservations at Disney restaurants were invaluable. The tips on where to eat and when were a big help. The descriptions of the rides were in some cases a little bit more scary than the ride itself but then we were prepared for what we encountered. We were able to follow the book but still have flexibility to do what we wanted. There were numerous small tips throughout the book that made it much easier to enjoy most everything we saw. We were able to see the four theme parks and two Disney water parks in the nine days we spent at Disney. It is a must purchase especially if you want to see as much as possible in the time you have (and especially if it is Canadian dollars!).

Summary: don't leave home without this book..
Review: I first discovered the Unofficial Guide in 1989 and highly recommend it for anyone going to Disney World or Disney Land. That's the first suggestion I make to people are state they are going to Disney - but this book! It's great - it rates the rides, tells you what age groups like what rides, whether the rides are scary for young kids.

It tells you how to see the popular rides with the least amount of waiting. Tells you how to save money and time at the parks.

It also rates all the different hotels - inside and outside Disney World with all different factors to consider.

It's worth the money and time reading this book!

Summary: Rushing around
Review: If you enjoy rushing from ride to ride without looking to see the magic of Disney, this is the book for you. Well planned out commando raids on each park. The rides were described well. However, I was exhausted after one day of following the exact agenda. I would suggest seeing each park on your own agenda, just know which things were important for YOU to see. Also the restaurant guide sections were too tough on some of the restaurants (so its not haute cuisine). Helpful book but use with others such as the Passporter Disney World book to get a well rounded picture.

Summary: Don't leave home without it
Review: I bought my first edition of this book in 1996 when I went to the park with my parents, my brother and sister-in-law, and my husband (not a child in sight!). The book is very well-organized -- I was able to skip the sections that were specifically designed for parents with young children and go to the sections for adults. I found most of the ride ratings to be accurate, and to prove that the author's opinion is just that -- an opinion -- they rely heavily on reader feedback when updating the book annually to rate the rides. They also have no problem printing contrasting opinions to their own. The author is very vocal about his dislike of Disney food, but he has stressed that it has less to do with the food being awful than it does with the price. He agrees it's not awful -- just not nearly good enough for the price. (I, on the other hand, love the dining experiences at Disney -- especially Epcot -- so I take the author's opinions with a grain of salt.) I'm planning another trip to Disney this fall -- this time with my young nieces and nephews -- and will now need to go back and read the sections I skipped about touring with young children! An invaluable travel resource.

Summary: A "Must Read" for lovers and cynics alike!
Review: We took our boys to Disney World in 1996 (they were 6 & 4 yrs). I used this guide to pick the quietest time to go. My husband wanted to stay inside the park, and because of $$ we stayed 3 nights outside at a hotel ($45/2rms/kitchenette/ Nintendo/kids eat free!),and 2 days inside ($114/1rm/no cable or vcr, only Disney Channel/$$greasy food!).The first day at the park, my husband refused to follow the book, and the kids were tired and stressed (as were we!). That night he agreed to finally read the book, and the vacation improved DRAMATICALLY! We skipped many rides, snuck in snacks, shared ice cream, and just RELAXED! We are now planning our 2nd trip for next year. We will NOT waste our money staying inside the park again, and will DEFINATELY stay in a 2rm suite again(a MUST with young kids). We are also planning to end the trip with a couple of nights at the beach to unwind before we head home (as recommended by our cousins, yearly Disney vacationers)! For those with young kids,REMEMBER...Don't try to do it all ...plan for the minimum you want to do/see, all the rest will be a bonus. You don't need to use the book faithfully, or even agree with all that is inside, but do heed the warnings/info and use your best judgement. I'll be buying a new copy, perhaps the kids version. I've lost count of the # of skeptics I've refered this book to who were amazed at the usefull info that is NOT included in other books. Just try it.

Summary: Wonderful guide for crowded times at WDW
Review: In 1998 and 1993 I went to WDW during the busiest week of the year there - the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. Both times we used the viewing plans in this book. Both times we never stood in line longer than 20 minutes for an attraction. We kept walking by the same attractions later in the day and seeing signs that the waits were as long as 90 minutes. Using this guide was the best thing we could have done. I'm heading to WDW again this April and will be picking up the new copy of the book for that trip. I've never been to any of the parks on a slow day, but when it is busy this guide is indispensible
