Summary: I Have a Big Stack of Disney Books and This is the Best
Review: This guide is superb! It includes all the tip and tricks you could ever want for getting around Disney without losing your marbles (or your way).

I've purchased this book every year for the last four years and and I am just about to purchase the 2001 version. Each year it has new and current information about what is opening and what is closing. Also, the first year we visited, the attraction ratings were especially helpful in determining which rides would be gentle and which would be thrilling (or frightening, in my case - unlike my partner, I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat).

Disney is a little too big and usually much too crowded to have a nice holiday if you don't prepare. That is why I wholeheartedly recommend that you buy this book. Stop reading these reviews and press that "add to cart" button now. :-)

Summary: The Best WDW Guide I've Encounter
Review: This was definitely one of the best guides I've read so far. I picked it up thinking that I could browse through the categories not covered in other books and ended up not being able to put it down for 3 days!! We're planning our first trip to WDW in November so I'll better be able to see how things rate and I'm planning a modified itinerary based on their touring plans.

Summary: So Much to See, So Little Time!
Review: There is so much to see and do in and around Walt Disney World, that you really have to plan before going. This book was a great help in deciding what days to see which parks and what restaurants to try, and which ones to steer clear of!

Although we didn't stick to the attraction/ride touring guide all day, we did start off the morning using it and it really saved us from long waits. The longest wait we had was about 22 minutes and we went during the summer season.

This guide gives you great attraction information including what attractions are appropriate for small kids (some are too scary) and which ones have accommodations for pregnant women (motion vs. stationary seats). I would recommend this book to anyone visiting WDW regardless if they have gone once or twenty times.

Summary: Before you make any plans,Buy this Book
Review: I've gotten this Book by Bob Sehlinger every time I was planing a trip to Walt Disney World. It tells you the best time to hit the parks, and the first and last ride to get on.Also,if you have a big family,Bob helps you to send the least about of money on food. Its always better to have you main meal at lunch time. You pay double for the same meal in the evening.Disney World can be wonderfull if you plan it right, but it can be pure hell, with the sun beating on you,and lines that never end. This book tells you what you need to know if you've never been to the park before. My favorite place is still Disney World.I would spend more time here than any of the other Theme parks. Also, try and stay at one of Disney's hotels. You don't have to worry about drivng, and some of the deals are fantastic.

Summary: Disappointing Read
Review: I ordered this book thinking it would be a helpful guide, having read the mixed reviews. When I returned from Disney, I trashed the book. I found it to be synical, depressing, sarcastic and an incorrect overview. After reading the book before I left, I no longer wanted to go. We were looking for somewhere special to go on our 30th anniv. and we made the correct selection. I found DisneyWorld to be hospitality, excitement, entertainment and attention to detail to perfection. Can't wait to go again.

Summary: The answer is in here
Review: I can't believe how accurate this book is. We followed 99% of his suggestions to the letter and we were never disappointed. When people at home look at our photos they can't believe how many characters we met and how much we accomplished in one trip to Disney. This book is worth its wait in gold.

Summary: This is THE key to WDW!
Review: I'm planning my third trip to WDW. I've been once without the help of the Unofficial Guide, and I've been once with the help of the Guide. The first time I went (in 1985), my family and I went at the height of the summer season, and we spent hot, miserable hours in lines for rides that weren't worth it.

Before I returned in '96 with a friend, I was fortunate enough to discover the Unofficial Guide. We went at the end of the summer when most schools were back in session, and the park was not as crowded. With the help of the book, I was able to navigate us to the best rides and eateries with the least amount of wait and cost. The '96 trip was much better, and I was able to see everything I wanted to see with no regrets.

I know there are some who feel that there aren't enough pretty pictures or they feel that the author is too negative about the WDW experience. For those who want the pictures of WDW and all-positive comments on Disney can check out Disney's website and peruse other books. But for me and my limited time and money, the Unofficial Guide cuts to the chase and gives me what I want to know and makes it easy for me and my travelmates to see what WE want to see without having to stay for weeks and spend lots and lots of money.

Also I happen to agree with the author on the food at WDW. I think amusement parks are the worst offenders when it comes to food. Most times you're at the park all day and it can be ultra inconvenient to leave just to find the closest McDonald's. So you're stuck with over-priced concessions and restaurants. WDW isn't the only culprit here, but it is one of the worst. I just figure for all the money you pay for a hot dog or a sit down meal, it should at least be good, not taste like cardboard.

Because of the Unofficial Guide, I look forward to my 2000 trip with gusto. If you don't buy any other book on WDW, buy this one. It's worth it.

Summary: Fantastic. Best ever.
Review: These guides are dead-on correct. A value at any price.

I came across the older versions a few years ago, and was impressed with the reader rating system. We didn't want to admit initially that the ratings system worked...but it does. You will be empowered and know where to get the best bargains for your time, money or appetite.

The transportation system can be mind bending at Disney, however these guides put it all into simple to understand language that makes it worth the time to plot a strategy. The hotel information is accurate and the rates are likely to be real and not some 60 day advance purchase scam. Take advantage of this guide and you will have a wonderful trip.

Summary: A Must for Planning Your Disney/Universal Vacation
Review: If you are going to Orlando, FL for a Disney Vacation, whether you plan on visiting Universal Studios and Sea World or not, this book is a MUST! Not only has it helped in deciding upon which hotel to book, but it also gives you helpful tips on the restaurants, car rental agencies, how to best navigate the parks to avoid being stuck in long lines, and other great tips.

I used this book in conjunction with the web and other brochures on discounts, and well, it has worked like a charm. Follow the recommendations, especially for what discount opportunities to look at, Orlando MagiCard, Magic Kingdom Club, etc., plus use the various websites out there with this book, and you are off to a great start.

I used this book back in 1994, and it made for a great vacation, well in 2000, it looks to make it even better. You can't go wrong here. From restaurant reviews to what sites to see in the parks and in what order, as well as it rating the rides and shows, it allows you to have a stress free vacation, and helps take the hassle and stress out of planning your vacation. BUY THIS BOOK!

Summary: Critical review of Disney World!
Review: Unlike Disney's guides that say that all resturants and rides are just as good: Bob Sehlinger's guide tells the visitor what to eat and what rides are worth the wait. Thank you, Mr. Sehlinger.
