Summary: A very good book, as far as it goes ...
Review: ... my only complaint is that it doesn't go anywhere NEAR far enough. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found lots of good advice, but too many topics are given cursory treatment. It is a long way short of "Everything You Need to Know About Choosing, Using, and Enjoying Your Rv." Perhaps if it was about twice as long, it might start to live up to its title.

Summary: Perky? But who needs perky?
Review: A "perky" book, the media reviewer calls this effort at providing much-needed information for beginning RVers. Frothy might be more like it. And, at least in areas I have experience in, containing misinformation that makes it appear the authors spent more time on being cute than they did on research.

There are a lot of GOOD books out there on RVing details that can help a beginner. This isn't one of them.

Summary: RVer's Bible
Review: Holy Cow! This book has way too much information to absorb. Good thing I got it a couple month's BEFORE we move into the RV full-time. This book has informed me of many little details and tips that I would never even have thought of. Thanks!

Summary: Great book--and yes, it is perky.
Review: I can't believe reviews that don't love this book. I've been using it all the time in my travels--and am axiously awaiting another RV book by the Bakers. It does have a good sense of humor--and the humor is based on the realities of RVing. Their information is right on, at least in my experience. Don't let a bad attitude turn you off to this book--it's a winner!

Summary: Great section on buying a used RV. Practical and fun.
Review: I especially like the section on buying used RVs and the parts that describe how to choose an RV that makes sense for you. Lots of good, fun advice--with a great sense of traveling humor. I've bought other Baker books--they're great too!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Out of date
Review: I found the contents too general and out-of-date.

Summary: GREAT BOOK
Review: I got this book from the public library and couldn't put it down. I found it so valuable that after reading it, I am buying a copy of it to use as a reference book. It has great checklists for the new RVer and gives enough basics for the novice to be comfortable with his rig.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: many words, little substance
Review: I was disappointed with this book. As a novice RVer I was looking for a more complete guide to RVing. The prose was too "cutesy" and I think many serious readers would be insulted by the tone of the book.

If you are looking for a guide to help you get started, one that explains systems, trailering, the variety of RVs available in an intelligent way, this is not it! A far better (and less expensive) book is the Moellers' RVing Basics.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Everything I need to know in one handy book
Review: I've thrown out all my other books and stopped looking for new ones on RVing. This book answered all my questions and more. I like the humor.....you have to have a sense of humor when you own an RV.....and I thought the content was much better than the Moeller's book. Anyone with an RV should have a copy on their bookshelf....and in their rv.
