Summary: A Literary and Experiential Diamond In The Rough!
Review: This soul stirring book is like none other I have read. And the authors are like no one else I have met. This audacious young couple sets out to rewrite the way we look at ourselves, the world and the journey we are all travelling. They redraw the maps we are used to following. They tear up the rule books and then write their own. They sell everything they own, sever all ties, burn all the bridges(their motto: "Never Go Back!"), and stake out new territory in the Here And Now. Then they scoup you up out of that comfortable armchair and take you along with them across the Patagonian wastelands, over top-of-the-world Andean passes, through impenetrable jungles, across raging rivers, and into other realms of thought and action and revelation you would never have ventured into otherwise. As I read, I could feel my world spinning, then turning upsidedown. Then I was in a totally different orbit, a different space, from which I could see myself, others around me, and the little blue planet Earth we live on, in a startling new way. Suddenly it was so much more than a horseback odyssey I was on: it became the universal journey we are all traveling. Nothing has ever inspired me more.Give it a read! I guarantee you'll never be the same and you'll thank the authors for shaking you up.

Summary: "Riding into the Wind" - A refreshing look at life!
Review: Wow! I just finished this incredible story written by two people that really do seem to ride "against" the blowing wind. Inspiring, educational, intriguing, spiritual; their writing hucks me off of my chair into a dream-like but very real world where a troupe of horses, dogs and their two-legged friends make their way from the lower reaches of South America to the Southern United States. Along the way they provide a truly unique literary insight into a different way of living ones life. A bunch of courage, a heaping teaspoon of living in the present, a big shot of a childlike spirit of adventure, leave out most of the ego and you're left with a recipe that makes for a delicious read. A truly great tale! I highly recommend it!!

Summary: A memoir and travelogue of a horseback journey
Review: Written with a "leap, don't look" philosophy on life itself, Riding Into The Wind is a memoir and travelogue of a horseback journey which is filled with insights on everything from grand events of history and the sweep of life itself to the grieving over a lost horse when dire sickness takes him, forcing his compassionate owners to end his suffering rather than watch him slowly die. The collaborative effort of Elly and Nathan Foote, Riding Into The Wind is an emotional and highly recommended journey which will be remembered by anyone who has ever had a horse as their animal companion -- or wanted to.
