Summary: Why is it 'Cross Stitch' in Australia and 'Outlander' in US?
Review: Thoroughly enjoyed this book - and am hunting for the rest of them. But, why was the book published in Australia as 'Cross Stitch'

Summary: DON'T START THIS BOOK RIGHT BEFORE GOING TO BED...
Review: ...I did, and was up all night long!! I couldn't put it down. I have never been a 'read the last page first' kind of reader, but I sure wanted to this time. Diana Gabaldon has done an excellent job. She gathered everything into one book, history, romance, action, adventure, even a little mystery. The twists and turns this writer leads you on will exhaust you and leave you begging for more. And just when you think it can't be topped she adds a second and third book to the series. A definate must have book, you certainly won't regret it!!!

Summary: Keep your copy, you'll want to read it over and over.
Review: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon is one of those instant classics that appeals to almost every segment of the reading public. For the romantics, there is the sweet, and sometimes bitter- sweet relationship between the two main characters Claire and Jamie. For history lovers, there is the rich discovery of 18th century Scotland, England and France (other places are explored in the sequels). For armchair adventurers, Claire and Jamie take you on a wild ride for war, mischief, political intrigue, treason, mystery, piracy, betrayal, capture and escape...you will not be bored! You will find it difficult to believe it is only the figment of one author's imagination. This story comes alive and kidnaps your own imagination and you just might find yourself in the closest library doing research to learn more about the characters you meet in Outlander. The characters will follow you wherever you go even after you have turned that last page. Read in now, and read it again later because I guarantee that you will be right there with me waiting impatiently for the next book.

Summary: Better than Butter!
Review: An outrageously fantastic novel that will redefine the definitions of category. There are many genres stuck to this work, but it has no peers... A world unto itself. Deserves every award that a book can receive

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fiction as a way to learn History.
Review: This story is fiction yet all details of the setting and history of the time are accurate. Reading this book is a wonderful way to learn about Scotland and the Jacobite revolution. It's sequels, Dragonfly in Amber and Voyager, continue the story of the main characters and the history of Scotland.

Summary: The best sci-fi, historic, romantic fiction ever written!
Review: This book has something for every reader. Sci-fi fans will like the time travel. Historic fans will like the fiction blended with the actual history of 18th century Scotland. And romance fans will love the trial and tribulations of Clair and Jamie. Diana Gabaldon is thorough, imaginative, and funny. The book flows from one scene to another, the reader will forget where they are and become enveloped into the story. Her descriptions are so vivid and her imagination is so wild, and her words so well written that one forgets that the book is fiction. Not only is the reader cheering for Clair and Jamie, but for all of Scotland as well. A must read for anyone who loves a well written, all around great story!

Summary: A Fantastic book!
Review: This is one of my favorite books. I even got my mother who only reads Science Fiction to admit that this was a wonderful book. Its nice and long, the characters are very real and engaging, and the plot is full of twists and turns. I honestly couldn't put it down, and stayed up all night to read it

Summary: An absolutely amazing piece of literature!
Review: If I had a choice, I'd give this book an 11. In this enthralling page-turner, Diana Gabaldon whisks you back in time to Scotland and gives you the ride of your lifetime. I started this book one summer morning, and read straight through for 9 1/2 hours. This book is impossible to put down, as you are swept up in the exciting and dangerous lives of Jamie and Claire. A young woman stumbles through a portal and finds herself back in old Scotland and married to a man with a price on his head. This book is a spectacular example of what writing should be

Summary: Enchanting, wonderful way to learn history
Review: Years ago, I stumbled across Outlander. Unable to shake my attachments to Jamie and Claire, I voraciously read Dragon in Amber when it was published. Reading the "teaser" for Voyager, I was driven to a frenzy until I could purchase the book. Now I have re-read each book three times. With each reading I pick up little clues and tidbits I had bypassed earlier. I am anxiously waiting for release of Winds of Autumn. I have visited Scotland twice and have been most interested in locales frequented by the Frasers. Fort William is a train station, no longer a prison. Culloden truly is an emotional destination. I found myself listening for pipes and tall Scots wearing plaids. NOw I look forward to the answers to questions like what happened to Brian

Summary: Outlanders is full of Romance, witch craft, history and more
Review: This book has it all; marriage gone sour...time travel. ...boy meets girl...historic events...witch craft...herbal lore...unexpected ending. When you pick this book up you won't want to lay it down untill your done. When you finish the book you will wish there were more. Outlanders is written in dialoge, which I enjoy reading, it also makes you stop and think what if?????
