Review: This book blew my mind! I've been reading time travel romances, and for the most part, have been disappointed. Most seem to concentrate on the romance and get sloppy with the story. Quite a let down. Then I discovered "Outlander". It is exactly what I've been looking for! What an excellent story. I've never read a book where the characters were so completely developed. I honestly don't see how anyone could come up with such an intense, romantic, believable, touching story without actually living it. The rest of DG's books are on my Christmas list. Thank you Ms. Gabaldon!

Summary: Slow As Molasses!
Review: I actually bought the entire series & only recently got the chance to sit down with the first volume of Diana Gabaldon's series about Scotland. Well, talk about slow,boring and way too much detail! I gave up after about 10 chapters! While Ms. Gabaldon's intense research & knowledge is admirable; there is such a thing as too much of a good thing! Not the type of book to breeze through; whether during a morning commute to work or a rainy night at home when nothing interesting is on tv. It's back to mystery/thrillers for me!

Summary: Och aye - 'Tis a superb piece of writing...
Review: Well this novel & the sequels would have to be my all time favourites. I read it while on holiday in Scotland last year and found it very difficult to put down! Being in Scotland while reading it made it even more real to life. My husband & I found a number of stone circles, but alas I'm still in the 20th century!! A truly wonderful read, packed with adventure, romance and a heavenly Scotsman!! Just a note to point out - this novel is published under the title of CROSS STITCH in New Zealand & also the UK. Looking forward to more sequels.....

Summary: Excellent time travel romance, believable characters/events.
Review: Passion is the key word. Gabaldon makes you believe such things as time travel really happen. The settings are rich and authentic, and the characters are unforgetable. The period of history covered by this story was bloody and tough, filled with danger, politics, and cultural cruelty. The romance is realistic, seasoned with equal parts of intensity and tenderness.

Summary: The best book I have ever read!
Review: My sister in law gave me this book to read, and I thought I'd read a little whenever I got bored. Was I wrong! As soon as I started I could not put it down. I felt myself becoming the characters. I felt real emotions as I read this book, and I was so glad at the end of the book to find there was more of this story to continue. I am now on the second book, and I have cried, laughed, and yelled at these characters like they were real people!

Review: What a wonderful book. I thought the length of the book would be a turn-off. Wrong! Not that. I wish it had been LONGER. If I could give this book a higher rating than 5 starts, I would do that. It's not because it's a romance novel. It's not that really. I would encourage anyone who enjoys a good story (my father included (he's 60+)) to read this. Diana has a wonderful flair for a story. Why didn't I hear about this author before.

Summary: Best Series of books ever writen!!
Review: This is the only series of books that I have read that I absolutly missed the characters after the book was finished. I have never conected with the characters of a book before like I have with these. Don't let the nuber of pages scare you away. After reading all the books in the series, I have come to the conclusion that there weren't enough pages!! I am eagarly awaiting her next book to come out. This is money well spent. If I were buying them all over again, I would have got the hardcovers. They are truly brilliant books. Well done Diana and keep it up!! Some of us just can't wait to see Jamie and Clair again!!!
