Summary: Excellent!
Review: I almost never read romances but felt like a change of pace so I picked this one up. Wow! What a great story and not your usual same plot romance novel. Oh, Jamie.............what a man!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Without a doubt, the best love story ever!!!
Review: Outlander is THE definitive book about "soul mates." Jamie and Claire (*sigh*) are simply what everyone wants their relationship to be like: unconditional love, intense, all consuming without falling into the trap of frightening obsessiveness. Gabaldon has captured something so heart-wrenching and, simply put, beautiful. She has such avid, obsessive, and loyal readers, because the characters are extremely lovable and real that you expect to lift your head from reading her books and see them alive right in front of your eyes. The preceeding books are marvelous as well, but this one is unbelievable. Jamie is the ultimate man. I know everyone out there would give anything to find their own Jamie or Claire. There are not enough superlatives for this book. I hope the 5th installment concentrates mainly on Jamie and Claire and does not digress too much on secondary characters as the other books, but I'll take them anyway I can get them. Great job Diana! You are the best!

Summary: The Greatest Book I have ever read!!!!
Review: Diana Gabaldon takes you through so many twists and turns, that you wish you were born in Scoland in the 1700's. This is the type of book that you want to read over and over, you find so many new things each time!!!

Summary: Spellbinding, one by one all four books draw you in.
Review: I got Outlander on loan from a friend, and found myself needing the next before she got a chance to bring it to work. I went out and purchased the set of four and have reread them and loaned them out in between. Jamie has become a part of this twenty first century nurse's life, too. I have always loved this style of book but there are few words to really express the all encompassing thrill of running through the heather and smelling the fresh clean, preindustry air with these delightful and vibrant characters. They beckon you to delve through the stones.....

Summary: Outlander is captivating; every page is a treasure!
Review: Outlander is the first book of one of the most outstanding series you will ever read! Whether you prefer adventure, sci-fi/fantasy, romance, or historical novels, this book will appeal to you! Diana Gabaldon is a genius, and I am envious of her talent with words and ability to paint scenarios so intense, vivid and colorful that reading her novels is like watching a movie! The remaining books in this series are of equally high quality - each and every sentence is interesting, and the entire series is packed with action, drama, and movement.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutely Top of the Line!
Review: All the others have said it all. Beautifully written. Difficult to put down. Hard to forget. A bit lengthy, but I recommend the whole series highly. Could not put them down. Can't wait for the next won. Go for it Diana!

Summary: The best book anyone will ever read.
Review: Diana's Outlander has been one of the best books that I have ever read in my whole life. I am only 17 year old teenager. This book brought tears to my eyes. The characters were well wrtten. Diana Gabaldon is the best author. These books most get on the bestseller list. If I had the power to rule this world I would make every woman read Diana's books.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This series is simply the best.
Review: If I had one problem with this series it would be that it was too short. I just didn't want the adventure to end, nor did I want to say goodbye to Jamie and Claire. I can't add anything new to what has been said by other reviewers except wouldn't you just like to have dinner with these two. My main reason for commenting on this series, is in hopes that some bookseller will read all these reviews, come to his/her senses and get these books out of the Romance section! I almost didn't buy this book for that reason and would have missed all the fun.

Summary: FINALLY, A MULTI-DIMENSIONAL HERO
Review: I am one of those romance readers who is a bit tired of the tall, dark and handsome alpha-males that seem to overpopulate the bulk of romance novels. I know this genre is supposed to be escapist and not necessarily PC, but come on, let's leave the brooding to Mr. Rochester!!! Cardboard is for boxes, not characters.

In Jamie Fraser, Diana Gabaldon has created a hero who is multi-faceted and quite believable. Jamie made me laugh, made me sometimes want to smack him when he behaving badly, made me sigh when he was being unabashedly romantic (one of the few male virgins in romance, by the way). Unlike most male characters in romance who are vulnerable yet hide their pain with a mask of supposed erotic indifference, Jamie is vulnerable in more realistic way. A man who loved his family, and a woman from the future so much, he was willing to give his life to save them. In creating the character of Jamie Fraser, Ms. Gabaldon has set a new standard as to what a male hero should be. Perhaps more romance writers will find themselves rethinking (and re-writing) their male heroes as well.

Before this gets entirely too cerebral, Jamie Fraser looks simply delectable in his kilt...

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: It's all been said already, but this is one of my favorite books of all time! A great adventure-historical romance-sci-fi book! Be careful though - you'll fall in love with Jamie for sure! It is somewhat graphic in some parts, and I recommend it only for the over 16 reader.
