Summary: Always Captivating!
Review: I read Outlander several years ago when it first came out. I was captivated from the beginning and truly agreed with my friend that it was, indeed, the best book I had ever read. Just recently, in anticipation of the next book, I decided to go back and re-read that long novel...and again, I didn't skip a page. It was even better the second time. Whatever you do, give yourself some time and make room for this book on your list of "must reads". It'll be worth it! And if you can't talk your husband into reading it...just read him parts from the historical battles and in a few days you'll find him asking you about Jamie & Claire. This is definitely not a romance, so if you're looking for an intelligent alternative to those "soupy" love stories - get started with Outlander and read ALL Diana Gabaldon's books!

Summary: Not for the faint of heart!
Review: This was one of the most fabulous and engrosing books I have ever read. I think the problem some people have with it, is that it is life, not typical of a romance novel. The violence is part of life, as is the humor, the intrigue, the history, and the sex. Don't expect a bodice ripper, because you will be shocked! But read it! You won't be sorry.

Summary: I need more stars!
Review: This book is NOT a romance. Yes, it has romance and enough passion to singe the reader's fingers, but that is not what it is. It is not a historical novel or a time travel novel. This book -in fact, the entire series- is unique, and is GREAT. The whole concept is original enough, the research is obvious and impresive but it is the WRITING that is truly superb. The main characters, Jamie and Claire, and the host of secondary characters, are funny, many-layered and believable. There is good and evil, mainly in the person of Black Jack Randall, and there are many subplots, complex and interesting in their own right. Nothing is wasted; every little comment or incident is tied together, bit by bit, to form a complex and remarkable pattern. This is a book that you cannot put down and that you come back to over and over again, discovering new facts every time. The whole series has become one of my all-time favorites. I know that I am only one among many others waiting with bated breath for the next book in the series.

Summary: Absolutely Fabulous!
Review: I started this series last April and could not put them down. I even had my friends send me the last book of her series in Spain this summer! I couldn't stop reading it. I can not wait until she releases another book! This book is Absoultely Fabulous Darling!

Summary: Outlander
Review: I typically read action novels such as Tom Clancy writes or Science Fiction, so this book was not my normal reading material. I only found it because it was mis-shelved. It looked interesting, so I purchased it. Once I started reading the novel, I could not put it down. I was completely hooked by the story. I read that book in a week and quickly moved on the the other three in the series.

Summary: I read all night!
Review: My mother bought me the entire Outlander series for my birthday. I read all 600-some pages in less than a week! Claire is such an inspiring woman- with her strong spirit and no lack of love. Jamie Fraser is one of those men we all dream about. I am currently reading A Dragonfly in Amber, which is also wonderful. I commend DG on all the research and passion she puts into her books! I also recommend any thing by Judith Merkle Riley.

Summary: The world needs more men like Jamie Frazier !
Review: If you have come to the end of a great book and thought to yourself that it ended too soon, you will not be left wanting with this one. This book (and the ones to follow) is the epic that is the corner stone of romance. Beautiful in detail and complex in family ties (aren't they all!), this reads like the story of someone's life. It is one of the best books I have read and re-read.

Summary: Loved it so much, read the whole series twice!
Review: Diana sure can put you right in the picture, her writing is so intricate and entwining. Every word has some connection or meaning that needs to be paid attention to in the next book (or even the next chapter for that matter). I could see every step that Jamie and Clair took, every place that they were in and the poeple they met! I simply love Diana's writing. I will probably never get to Scotland in person, but thanks to this series, I have been there and saw it trough the eyes of Jamie and Clair!

Summary: Disappointing - A Chore to Finish
Review: Sorry, Outlander fans. This book was a huge disappointment to me. I was prepared to love it, but just getting past the first chapter was a chore. The middle of the book is o.k., but the last half of the book is way overdone. I think this is one of those books you either love or hate.
