Summary: The BEST series of books I have ever read!
Review: Diana Gabaldon is truly a gifted writer, and I feel she doesn't get enough publicity. As others have written, her first book, "Outlander", was definitely the best of the four in the series so far. However I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed all four books with an incredibly strong hunger for reading that was new to me. And if you think it is just because I am a romance buff, you're wrong! My husband wasn't interested until I started reading "Outlander" to him before going to bed at night. Now he hurries me to bed every night to read the next chapter! Diana really makes you see, hear, feel, smell and taste everything Claire experiences in the story. You really feel like you are part of the story, rather than just an observer. I am very eagerly awaiting the release of her next book in the series. If you liked the movie "Braveheart", you'll absolutely love the "Outlander" series.

Summary: BOOOORING
Review: I suffered through the first third of this book, found nothing interesting or romantic about it, and promptly sold it! This thing is about as tedious as it gets!

Summary: One of the best I've read
Review: This is one of the best books I've ever read! I was so into it by the second chapter I completely tuned out everything for the two days it took me to finish (and this is a LONG book). Diana Gabaldon created such great characters in Jamie and Claire- I was actually sad when this book ended and I had read the final page. Let me tell you, I couldn't get to the bookstore fast enough to buy the second in this series of four books. The remaining three weren't quite as good as the first, but they were excellent anyway. This is a great read for romance enthusiasts, but there was enough historical fact and plot twists that it is definately more than just a romance novel. You will want to read this book and the sequels, too. I can't wait until Diana Gabaldon's next book comes out!

Summary: What a shame that I couldn't put these wonderful books down.
Review: A co-worker got me started on this series when she realized how much I love to read and she really wanted some one to talk to about the series. The problem was that they were so wonderful that I read them all in about two months and now I'm barely waiting for the next in the series. I really really wish I could have put these down to savor them! Ha Ha Happy reading to everyone and I know you won't be disapointed.

Summary: Too Long, Goofy Language
Review: Too long for such romantic nonsense. It should have ended when the "flame haired hero" took our American sounding heroine back to the "stones."

The flowery language made me laugh. I snickered (when I wasn't yawning).

I'm accustomed to stronger fiction. Try WHITE OLEANDER to clear your palate after this stinker.

Summary: My Favorite Book!
Review: I can't recall ever wanting to read a book twice (never mind 4 times), until I started reading Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" series. Finding words to express my admiration for her writing is not an easy task. If you haven't read these books, I URGE you to do so. My only complaint is the sense of loss I feel when I'm done reading...Oh well, there's always the 5th time!

Summary: "Outlander"
Review: I first read Gabaldon's books when I was 13 years old; I am now 18 and still desperately waiting for "Fiery Cross" to come out. I have been hooked since the second I picked up "Outlander" and I know that anyone elso who reads any of Gabaldon's work will be thrilled also.

Summary: Incredible character development!
Review: A bookstore employee suggested Outlander to me. 3&1/2 weeks later I had finished all four books and purchased the Companion. (I do work full-time and have two children under the age of four!) I visit the Diana Gabaldon Home Page for previews of the next two books. My friends and I discuss the characters and history so well developed in these novels. Reading this series is an EXPERIENCE, not just a casual passtime! If for some reason you don't like this book, please give it to someone else to enjoy! Gabaldon is a terrific writer, so these books are much MORE than romance. They are stories of the times in which these characters live...adventure, history and many, many questions. Lots of genuine surprises, too! Bon voyage!

Summary: A thoroughly engaging read
Review: I put off reading this book, which was given to me by a friend, because I generally do not like time travel romance. I reluctantly began to read to avoid offending the friend who so highly recommended it, and couldn't put it down for three days until I finished! What a truly lovely work of literature! These characters become part of you as you read and you cannot help but love the accuracy and lack of pretension with which the author relays emotion, both good and bad. I can't wait to start the next one.

Summary: Amazingly Real
Review: Outlander along with Gabaldon's subsequent novels are priceless gems among rocks. Her characters are so real, they are living breathing beings. You share their pains and triumphs. And the detail with which Diana has painted her novels is extraordinary. I could go on and on about the wonders of this series, but that would take way too long, so go out there and just buy the book! You won't be disappointed...
