Summary: Enjoyable description of exciting adventures.
Review: The author takes the reader along for a series of interesting adventures and experiences. I learned about extinct Indian cultures, such as the Anasazi and Hohokam of the Southwest. I shared a dinosaur dig in Montana as the author excavated 70-million-year-old bones. And I was taken along as the author raced sprint karts, and paddled his sea kayak along the coast, and actually got to fly the Goodyear blimp. I also enjoyed his experiences in a whitewater kayak, particularly when he kept getting dumped and had to scramble to shore before he got washed over the next set of rapids. This guy is no Indiana Jones, but he's got guts enough to try different adventures. And he writes very well. He has the ability to put the reader in the picture, in the experience. I felt I was always taking part in the adventures rather than merely readng about them. There are stories about scuba diving and hot air ballooning (the author has mastered the crash landing). There are plenty of excellent photos taken by the author, which I like. The author obviously has training as a photographer. This book is well worth reading.
