As advertised, this book provides a thoughtful and comprehensive overview to getting around Amsterdam and discovering its numerous charms and simple pleasures. This guide is written in a refreshingly honest yet upbeat style--never overly chatty, cute, or condescending. Another advantage is that it is aimed at the American traveler rather than the British one, as often there can be a big difference in how cultural and practical matters are explained.
