Rating: Summary: Practical and honest Review: A GREAT guidebook for hotel, restaurant, shopping and general sightseeing advice. (Although, you probably want to invest in an additional higher-quality map than included with this book.) The reviews and recommendations were always on-target and honest, never "glossed-over" and lead us to some interesting, wonderful places not included in other guide books.

Rating: Summary: Original Review: I travel a lot and this is the first guide out of many that has completely satisfied my needs. It is fun, informative and helpful. Its section on shopping is particularly well done and with it I have found many original gifts.
Rating: Summary: Good - but not that interesting Review: I travel to Europe and London a lot, so on my last trip I was looking for something that would provide a more interesting view of that city. I had previously relied upon Time Out guides (the book and the magazine) to see what's really happening in town. The Avant Guide had interesting and sometimes eccentric places, organized in a fun format - lots of graphics, different type faces, lots of pictures. But the bottom line is, the content isn't that much different than Time Out - and it's harder to get to because of the organization.

Rating: Summary: Avant-Guide London Review: This guide is perfect for the traveler that wants to get beyond the tourist traps and mundane of London. Geared toward the younger traveler it gives great listings of shopping, lodging and dining(with price estimate). Also included are reviews of several nightclubs which most travel books overlook. A must-have!
Rating: Summary: GREAT COOL GUIDE TO LONDON Review: Whether your a first=timer or know London well, this guide is great. I was just visiting, but my friends who live there couldnt get enough of this book. Bottom line: the best guidebook series yet for thirtysomethingsings.
