Summary: This is how a diving guide should appear.
Review: The minute I saw this book I thought to myself "well at least it looks like a reasonable guide" and, for once, I was not disappointed. The book measures 9" x 6" (23cm x 15 cm) and contains over 200 pages packed with information which includes all the information a visiting diver wants to know.

Geographically, Thailand's coastline comprises southern Thailand, both the east and west coasts of part of the Malay Peninsular and the offshore islands on either side of that peninsular. The book commences with an Introduction followed by details on; Weather conditions, diving regulations, marine life, conservation, some basic tips about photography and how to use the book itself, the guide is then skilfully divided into easy to follow geographical locations which cover every Thai destination you could possibly visit.

Throughout the book, the 84 separate dive sites are interspersed with a good selection of maps and charts to help you on your way and set out in the way a diving guide should appear. The photography by Ashley J. Boyd is quite outstanding - although the author does not allow this to take over his book at the expense of written detail.

My only criticism is that 5 pages were wasted by including those tips on underwater photography - which, in itself, is a subject for another complete book. My cameras are different from your cameras and together they are all very different from the cameras used by other people. Basic tips, therefore, quite often do not apply. Nevertheless, this is a first class guide.
