Summary: A must for those considering visiting the colorful Caribbean
Review: Fielding's Caribbean" is an great guide to 31 island nations - I have found no other handbook that clearly and concisely lays out the important information that a traveler needs as well as Fielding's does. The ratings are accurate, and most of the better properties and restaurants on each island are included.

While this guide is highly recommended, it has a few shortcomings that need to be mentioned. Most notable is that Fielding's does not think of Cuba as part of the Caribbean, and there is no coverage of this country at all.

Second, the lack of web sites or e-mail addresses ...today, most hotels have e-mail and web sites, which make booking a reservation easy and cheap.

Despite these omissions, "Fielding's Caribbean" is a must for those considering visiting the colorful and exotic world of the Caribbean.

Summary: All you need to know and lots of good tips, too.
Review: You'll wear this book out using it.I checked it on every island I have visited and found Swanson and Garrett were a step ahead of me with something to share that I didn't know. They're honest, with plenty of refreshing opinions of what's worth doing and what you should pass on. The book also gives good advice on values and undiscovered places. I've given this as a gift to friends bound for the Caribbean.
