Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I have used many computers/handhelds over the past fifteen years. The REVO in my opinion is the best I have encountered. The built in software is exactly what "we" need for collecting information in agricultural research plots. The transfer of files between machines (infrared) is awesome! Light weight , easy to hold , lots of memory and rechargeable long lasting batteries are all positives for this little machine. The only drawback is the screen darkens in direct sunlight. However it takes just a second to adjust. Great machine. Great price. Lack of availability right now is a big concern as there are no other handhelds being made to touch it.

Rating: Summary: Psion REVO - Beats Palm hands down ! Review: I have used Palm devices for years, but switched to a Revo last year, after reading rave reviews. The Revo is just as easy to use as the Palm for all of the standard electronic organiser functions, but with the added benefits of : a) a useable keyboard and b) full spreadsheet, word processor and dbase programmes. To elaborate a little more : - For those who type a lot of e-mails and are thus probably reasonbaly proficient touch typers, the Revo keyboard works very well, obviously more difficult for "hunt and peck" typists, but that's the same with any small keyboard - The battery life is excellent, a factor of the operating system, which has been designed from the ground up for mobile devices, unlike Win CE. - Hot synching and file conversion is very intuitive, particularly like the ability to drag and drop files to and from the Psion and the PC. - The EPOC (Symbian) operating system is fast and (are you listening Microsoft?) RELIABLE ! This is also a 32 bit OS, unlike Palm (16 bit only). - The REVO case is small and light. Not as small as a Palm V, but certainly portable enough for a jacket pocket or even a pair of chinos ! The bottom line is, if your live is run by your electronic organiser (which means MS Outlook for most people) but you also want to be able to take Word files on the road and work out calculations on a spreadsheet, as well as drafting e-mails etc, then the Psion REVO is a much better choice than any Palm device.
Rating: Summary: Better than the Pocket PC! Review: I just traded up from the new Cassiopiea E-115 to the Revo. The Pocket PC crashed 3 times, and I realized that even though the Cassiopeia does video and voice, I never really used them for anything productive. The Revo is a fabulous organizer, super lightweight, and fun to use! It's simple to set up, sync, download loads of free files, and I can hear the alarms in my office when I am in my backyard building a pond that I hope to stock with Koi next week. I've downloaded a drawing program, a few card games, and some crosswords - everything always seems to work flawlessly. The Revo is the coolest looking, and in my opinion most functional organizer in the universe.
Rating: Summary: It's great ! Review: I recently purchased a REVO online about the same time that my husband got a Visor. I ahve to say that I prefer the REVO for at least two reasons, it has a functional albeit small keyboard, and a rechargable battery. The only reason I rated this a 4 and not a 5, is that software for the REVO is more difficult to find, it seems to originate in Europe mostly. That is a little disappointing because in the medical field, I need to have material such as drug references etc that are pertinent to practice in the US. In all other ways, I have found it to be absolutely great.
Rating: Summary: Revo is a great way to stay organised Review: I've been totally impressed with my Revo since I bought it lastyear. The machine is the perfect size and design to make it usable asa daily organiser. If you have a compatible IR phone you can use theadditional mail and web browsing features, and whilst I find browsing the web slow, it's a breeze to check and reply to my email. The built in phone application allows you to configure your phone via IR and the Agenda is very nicely designed and easy to use. I have missed a backlight but surprisingly very few times. Most of the time I find the screen very readable and a major improvement on the older (touch screen) Psion models like the Series 5 and 5mx. The Revo is a great little machine and deserves to be a success throughout the world.
Rating: Summary: Small yet powerful and it has a keyboard!! Review: If you are looking for a PDA to store contacts, e-mail, to-do lists, etc., look no further! I had been looking around for a PDA to suit my needs, but I didn't like the Palm's or Visor's. Then I found the Revo (VERY popular in Europe) and decided to do some reseach on the tools, speed, and available applications. Then, once I saw the wonderful price here on Amazon (about $100 less than everyone else) I figured I'd order it and give it a try. Talk about amazing...lots of free/shareware apps on the web, and lots of forums to get answers to your questions. I would highly recommand this PDA. Put aside your Palm and Visor and check out this PDA with a keyboard. In addition, I have yet to see anyone complaining about any hardware issues! If it isn't in stock (Gee, I wonder why? ;), wait for it. It will be worth it!
Rating: Summary: Great alternative to Palm! Review: If you shop like me and like to compare what's out there before buying, the Revo is worth a serious look. I wanted a PDA under or around $300 so I after hours of reading reviews on cnet.com, I bought the Revo, Mako (the Revo's big brother with more memory), Palm M100, Palm IIIxe, Compaq Aero 1550 and Handspring Deluxe. These were similar in capabilities and price. The keyboard was what convinced me to try to Revo but once I got it, the wide screen, Word and Excel-like software, quality sound, and study feel of the Revo won me over from the Palms and Compaq. The resolution is crisp and clear on the wide screen and you'll have a hard time going to a Palm after you see the text on the Revo. I mainly use the spreadsheet, contact and agenda features which all have the Windows-like pull-down menus. I hated grafiti (the handwriting software on Palms) so a keyboard was a blessing. There's a lot of depth and detail to their software so it would be hard for a non-PC user. A Palm maybe better for those users because Palms do seem more user-friendly. However, if you can use a PC, this little machine is like having your desktop in your pocket. It's an affordable and much more convenient alternative to a lap top if you just need the basic wordprocessing, spreasheet and organizer software. The best $300 I've spent in a while.
Rating: Summary: Great for Doctors! Review: Looking for a good PDA for medical use, comparing the Palms, PC Pockets and Psions, the Revo easily came out tops for me. Factors in a medical setting: (1) Patient notes - the portability and bedside flexibilty (pull it out and write) of the Palms are good, however, how many of us truly write at the bedside!? Although there are several shareware progams (Ward5 etc) available for patient records the built-in "Data" program, is easily configurable for this use. The keyboard entry is far quicker than the stylus entry required for Palms. (2) Medical References - there are heaps of web-pages that you can download for later off-line accessing with "Web". BUt best of all are many medical texts downloadable for free, or for a small registration fee. The most useful I've found are PDF files (and the new commercial PDF+ program), you can peruse algorithim flow-charts, charts, tables and indexes... (3) Medical Calculators - shareware for calculating blood gas equations, BMI, A-a gradient etc. (4) Word processor - for case reports, those presentations, and monographs. Even though, all PDA's have 3rd party software to do these same things, nothing beats having the Revo's keyboard for speed of data entry, its greater protection against knocks when walking around (Dr's walk around a lot, contrary to many peoples conception), and bigger screen for reading off. Don't get a Palm...get a REVO!!!
Rating: Summary: Great OS, awesome net capabilities Review: My Revo is like my baby. I love it. The OS is -very- stable and has a very good set of developers to go with it. I currently have programs like ICQ, SimCity Classic, Fairway (great golf sim app), Opera *fast* web browser, in addition to the great spreadsheet and word processor pre installed. It is very fast, speedy when downloading email and surfing...much faster than WinCE units I saw running with 3 times the Mhz My only gripe is that the memory is a bit small for power users that like to have alot of programs on it. But for the size it's great. And believe me, you get used to the no-backlight thing.
