Rating: Summary: Good Palm Pilot Review: This is a good palm pilot beacause its got many features. Some of the features that are on the zire are calculator,Address, games(mind hunt, puzzle, giraffe)clock, datebook, expense, memo pad, note pad and to do list. Its small so it fits in the hand well or the pocket. If it turns on in your purse there is a auto off program that comes with the palm. You can pick them up for cheap prices. There fun to work on or play on, and there easy to use also the battery only takes 3 hours to charge and lasts for weeks. The beaming option it is very useful and the hotsync is aswell. And yes it does come with a surcurity password that you can enable or disable. Unfortanally there is bad to the zire. There is not many buttons on it for gaming, the flip cover is verey annoying because it is rubber and it flips back and forward but dont worry there is metal covers for it. There is no backlight and there is only 2 mb for storage it holds alot of text but not that many games or big programs. The grafitti software takes time getting use to but its worth it at leaast its better than writing on bulky paper. The only problem i had with it was... When i first turned it on one time it didn't turn on and the screen didnt show up i turned it on and off nothing happend i pressed the contrast button then i pressed the up botton and held it there for a few seconds the screen darked and the whole screen was black. I prest the reset button in the back with an unfolded paper cip and held it there for a few seconds about a minute later the screen showd up again and its working again other than that its a very Good palm pilot and there is lots more free games and software you can get off the internet
Rating: Summary: TERRIBLE PRODUCT! Review: Yes, it's small. Yes, it's easy to use. BUT THIS THING SUCKS!!!! I spent hours entering my info, and then put it aside. It was off. I apparently left it too long, and the battery wore down. ALL MY INFORMATION WAS ERASED. I haven't used it since. Do I need one more thing to worry about? No! That was the point of getting a "convenience" like this! Ugh!
Rating: Summary: This is a very good PDA Review: I am a 13 year old kid who bought this pda with my mowing money for school. This is a very good PDA for its price. It has a nice B&W touch screen and looks cool. It has an Adress book, date book, memo pad, note pad (you can draw stuff on the screen with this), 13 digit calculator, clock & alarm, expense, to do list, and security. A cd comes in the package that has palm desktop software (synchronising stuff), and mine hunt, giraffe, hardball (like pong), and puzzle 15 (theese are all games that you put on the pda through the desktop software). This is a very good pda for anyone who wants one thats cheap in price, but not in quality.
Rating: Summary: Don't get it for the looks, or the price! Review: A couple weeks ago, my Zire broke, and I have to say that I wasn't that disappointed. The memory on this thing is hardly even enough to have more than one good program on it, and all the Zire really is, is just an organizer. It is impossible to use expansion cards on this unit too. Before I got my Zire, I remember reading a review that specifically said NOT to get the Zire. I should have listened. Believe me, and don't get the Zire. There are units out there with expansion options, and with 4 times the memory for the price that I paid for mine. Even for a student, this thing has hardly enough memory on it. I couldn't even fit a dictionary on it. Get another unit rather then having to constantly uninstall programs in order to make more space to put on new applications, like what I did. Take the advice!
Rating: Summary: GLARE Review: Maybe this is just my problem, but I found the intense glare coming off the screen of this unit (under all lighting conditions) so annoying that simply cannot use it. It's a shame too, because it has all the features I need at a very nice price. (I paid only $44.95 for it.)
Rating: Summary: What a Load of Junk Review: STAY AWAY from this junk. Totally unintuitive in use, sync is a step backwards from other products. Died after 9 months without warning - I guess when Palm only offers a 90-day warranty on the product you should get the hint. Take a look at the Palm discussion boards and you'll see that my experience is not unique.
Rating: Summary: Not stable Review: I wouldnt want to take awak positives from the Palm Zire. it is a preety good peice but then mine crashed for no reason(4 months later).Sadly enough I bought my peice from Amazon.com. What sucks big time is the fact that Palm doesnot come with a warranty period. They asked me to repair it which would cost a cool 75$ when i could get a brand new one off the shelf for the same price. As long as I had it, it works fine. Its a good recommendation for someone who wants to own their first pda. For a serious user, you better look at something that has a lot more features, a.more memory space b.color( though it is not a requirement) c. more functionality( compact flash, SD memory)
Rating: Summary: Great for minamal porpuses Review: This is the best palm... only if you are a kinda busy person, with kinda alot of phone calls to make, and stuff like that.
105, is way better though. Because it is obsolete you can get it for really cheap prices, have 4 times as much memory, the same blck and white screen, the same sized screen, and a graet for holdin in your hand
Rating: Summary: Keeping me organized Review: I love this handheld. I've had it for about three weeks, and it does just what I wanted. My addresses were easy to upload to it, and the calendar is very functional. I don't expect it to do much more than that, so the fact that the memory isn't bigger won't ever be a problem. I haven't minded that it's not backlit, and while it's true that the cover does flop around and sometimes it turns on in my bag, the battery goes for so long that I don't worry about the it running down. I am now the person who remembers appointments and birthdays and can check off to-do lists because they aren't on a million pieces of paper. I was wary after reading some of these reviews, but because I only need it for a limited number of functions, it's just right.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic for the price Review: For the money this is a great machine. I use the typical functions, address book, date book, etc... It actually fits comfortably and discreetly in your pocket. I have no problems with this item.
