Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Wonderfully Illustrated
Review: A comprehensive regional geography textbook used in an undergraduate geography class I just completed this fall (2002). The author along with her son covers just about every country on earth. This book is timely with comments regarding 9/11 and a little bit on the battle with the Taliban in Afghanistan.

The illustrations and pictures are excellent, making the study of geography just that much more interesting. With each region she covers she enlists the help of a local specialized geographer. She also covers enviromental, economic, population (density) social, gender as well as other issues. In general a good textbook.
