Summary: Three cheers for Dovey
Review: As a teacher, I read Dovey Coe because of it's place on the Georgia Book Awards Nominee list. My students will be reading this book to determin if it is one of the best young adult books of the year and it gets my vote.

Dovey is a young mountain girl living through the worst of the depression. When her beautiful older sister publicly rejects the richest (and meanest) boy in their small town and decides to go to college instead, he ends up dead, and Dovey ends up covered in his blood.

This is a good young adult mystery. It is about the love of a family and the bonds that tie them. It is about living with a disability and fighting the public stigma of that.

Girls and boys will love Dovey Coe. She speaks her mind and pull no punches. In the end, it is her wit that may make the difference in whether or not she goes to jail.

Summary: this is a great book!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Dovey Coe is a fantastic book. It has great characters, like Dovey of course. It has a great setting on a mountain. The best part about it was that you don't know who killed Parnell until the end , and it's a surprising twist. Caroline is getting courted by Parnell the richest boy in town and this really bugs Dovey because she thinks Parnell is up to no good. So of course evryone acusses Dovey for killing him. All in all this was the best book ever

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Spectacular
Review: Dovey Coe is a story that touched my heart because of its seemingly amazing characters. The author made descriptions that could flow like the ocean. I recomend this book to anyone who enjoys reading and even if they don't I think they should give it a shot.

Summary: Dovey Coe
Review: I picked up this book thinking it would be more of a western novel, but after the first few pages I knew I was obligated to read it. Dovey had a very strong character and really expressed her opinion on every little detail. The court case is what interested me the most, when the suggestion of her murdering Parnell was being tossed around the court room. This is a GREAT book and I reccomend it.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A well written book
Review: The book Dovey Coe is a well written book. Dovey Coe is a 12 year old girl in the small town of Indian Creek. It's hard when your sister is the most beautiful girl in town. It's even harder when there is a stuck up rich boy in love with her named Parnell. Parnell and Dovey get in a fight and Dovey's blamed for the murder. Will Dovey win the case?
This book is written by Frances Dowell. You are able to get inside the mind of Dovey. The only thing I didn't like was it wasn't much of a mystery. I give it 3 stars.
