Summary: Fun YA fiction
Review: As a reading tutor, creative writing mentor, and author of YA fiction, I'm always looking for books that are fun reads for young adults. In my experience, when a child or teen reads something that makes them laugh, it leads to them staying more focused, and therefore improves their reading comprehension. It also means they might actually turn off the TV for a little while to read. So, I appreciated Feinstein's book because I found it a fun read, and I think kids I've worked with through the years will as well. I also am a huge sports fan, and since I grew up in the Maryland area, I am very familiar with the writings of Feinstein, Mr. Tony (Kornheiser) and Michael Wilbon, so that added some extra enjoyment for me.

Summary: Better Than Nancy Drew!
Review: I've liked most of Feinstein's stories, especially A Good Walk Spoiled, but this book doesn't compare. And I can't believe he got away with pulling from another book. Obviously the writer was under pressure to perform. There was a book a couple years ago that reminded me of this one, Jeff Schneider's book about the mob getting to a player to throw the Final Four. The Fix, I think. Seemed a lot like this one. But just because I didn't like it doesn't mean he won't produce another good one. Feinstein is a good writer, but maybe not in the fiction genre yet.

Summary: Needs to come up with his own idea
Review: When I heard about this book it sounded very familiar to one written a couple years ago called The Fix. I'm not saying the author plagarized, but his story was a takeoff of The Fix, a story about the Mafia fixing the Final Four. Anyhow, he needs to stick with writing non-fiction. His fiction skills are shallow. He did a great job with Season on the Brink, but this book doesn't come close to a good read.
