Summary: If you have not read a book by Dessen you are missing OUT!!!
Review: This Lullaby deals with hate, friendship, fate, and love and what its true meaning is. Everyone can relate to this book in one point of her life or another.

The characters are described so well it feels like they really could exist. They are all unique and genuine. As you learn more about the main character Remy you realize where she is coming from and hope things fall together the right way.

The protégé is Remy, a recent high school graduate who had completely given up on love. She doesn't believe in love and believes she never will, until she runs into her most unlikely match, Dexter. The Dexter character is quirky and great, he has such an honest and real personality. Dexter is a singer of a garage band. He lives with five other guys. While Remy doesn't think Dexter is at all her type, he has a way of capturing her in a way she never thought possible.

I would highly recommend This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen. This book contains is funny and neat, real characters and Remy's friends and family you can relate with different parts of each one. Sarah Dessen did such a great job capturing human emotions.

Summary: 'Lullaby' sings out loud and clear
Review: This Lullaby is a truly remarkable book. This is partially due to Remy, its hard-edged, (seemingly) cold protagonist (unusual for Sarah Dessen!); partially due to the utterly loveable character of Dexter; and partially due to many, many other factors. Most of all it's just due to the fact that it's a damn good book.

Every single one of This Lullaby's characters is interesting and multi-dimensional, even the most peripheral of players. Although the story is a decidedly dramatic one, humor runs more rampant here than in any other Dessen novel, particularly in the subplots involving Remy's endearing ex-stoner brother, Chris, and his "self-improvement guru" girlfriend, Jennifer Anne.

This Lullaby is notable for me personally for being the only book I have ever bought without reading it first. I had no idea what it was I was purchasing (well, okay, I'd read a couple of the author's other books and liked them, but you just never know). Fortunately, it's turned out to be one of my two favorite books of all time (alongside The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy; go figure).

All of Ms. Dessen's books are fun to read (particularly her first book, That Summer), but This Lullaby stands unique.

  Summary: Very interesting, entertaining story
Review: This Lullaby is an interesting story with quirky characters. It follows the life of Remy, an about-to-move-on-to-college teenager who dumps her boyfriends as often as she cleans her room (a lot). Since her mother is currently getting married to her seventh (is that right?) husband, Remy does not believe in love. Then along comes Dexter, the quirky musician who falls for her the moment he sees her across a room. Remy can't stand him- at first. This novel is about Remy coming to grips with love. This novel has some very true philosophies about love, and is definitely worth reading.
