Review: This book was both insightful and entertaining. It offers the reader a very interesting glimpse at the world of horse shows. The author is exceptional in her portrayal of the action... and the characters are diverse and identifiable. A very excellent effort. I look forward to reading more from this talented woman.

Summary: Best Horse Story I've Read
Review: This is a great fun horse story. I've read the black stalion series, saddle club, and seabiscuit, and some of the thoroughbred series but this one beats them all. SHOWTIME is about a bunch of kids who show their horses at the Del Mar Fair grounds in Southern California. I loved the characters they are real and believable, a lot like me ...except they live in Del Mar, have all the money in the world, great horses, and a great trainer.

I show jumpers in Arizona and I wish I could see the shows these kids show in all the time. Actually I wish I could be Blair, the main character in the book. SHOWTIME is full of jumping lessons and descriptions of the rounds at shows, they even have the jump courses so you can see the course on paper. Oh and the cover is cool too. It has a real picture of the the best horse in the book, Windsom Angel jumping a fence at the Del Mar Fairgrounds with the big Del Mar sign in the background.

The book is fiction but Angel is real. I got this book from their web site a few months ago and now I was looking for the next book in the series,(due out soon), and I saw Amazon's link. I had to write a review. The site is at www.4SHOWTIME.com and they have a photo page with more photos of the horses from SHOWTIME, Angel and Benny, at real shows.

Whwn I finished my MOM read the book and she loved it too. She said it made her cry. And she's 40.

A great book, fun and easy to read, you'll love it.
