Summary: Not The Best, Readble Though
Review:
This was NOT the best book in the GG series. I love the GG series but I have to say that this latest book was the worst. It was just a little too over the top, the situations were nearly implausible. Serena was a bit much with all the guys and usually I like her character but god in this book it was too much. The best part of the book was the ending with Blair and Nate. That was the one part I actually really enjoyed.
Tiphanny the ferret girl...ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope the next book brings GG back to it's usual reading goodieness ;)

Summary: Chit Chat and Gossip is what girls do best
Review: Annotation: "You're the one that I want" is the sixth book of the Gossip Girl series. This was the book when everything came to a close, or at least we thought so. It was the big day when all the college letters have finally arrived, the nerves we so high you could barely control the butterflies in your stomach. The big question, was Blair going to get into her dream college, Yale? It would make everything so complete; she could live there with her boyfriend Nate, along with her best friends Serena. Everyone knew Serena had a automatic exception just for who she was, and Blair knew she could never leave Serena and Nate alone, look what happen last time. When it comes to these upper class Manhattan crowd, it is all about the money and who you are. It doesn't madder if you aced the ACT's or spent every weekend giving your time to the community, it was all about the family you came from, how known you were, and what kind of money you have.

Author Bio: Cecily Von Ziegesar grew up in the land of Blair, Serena and Nate. She attended an all-girl private school, attended socialite galas and generally "did the do" like only a real New York City diva can. In this series of books Cecily puts her high school experiences to use. Cecily said that she doesn't' feel like she has changed much since she was seventeen, so she doesn't find writing about teenagers all that hard. When asked what character she relates to most in these books Cecily said Blair because she has a wild imagination, she's kind of cruel but sensitive at the same time, she's ambitious and competitive, and her family is insane.

Evaluation: "You're the one that I want" is my favorite book out the series. I was disappointed that when it all came down to the end, Blair only got on the waiting list at Yale, that was basically a major part the past five books in the series. I mean she did everything she could, she was top in her class rankings, aced the ACT's, chaired every charity event in town, and was active in every club or group in the school. But when you have an enormous hang over the day of your interview with the admissions because you didn't stop drinking until two hours before in your hotel room and then end up dramatically explaining your horrible life while bursting into tears and then give the officer a kiss good-bye, what more could you ask for. But if Blair didn't get into Yale it would ruin her whole family reputation. After she explained the tragic event to her dad, who was an alumni at Yale, he got her another meeting with an admissions officer. But dating, or "Hooking up" with the officer sure didn't get her pasted the waiting list. I think the reason I liked these books was because it was so easy to relate, in some type of way this goes on with my friends and life all the time. Even though they're rich and spoiled on the surface, they're still just like everyone else. At least one event that happened in this series of novels, I know everyone could relate to. These novels are meant to be funny and interesting but they are soft and sensitive people like everyone else, they just happen to have more than anyone else could want. I think that they is one of the big reasons that I, along with many others enjoy these books so much.

Summary: Gossip girl
Review: I am a fan of the GG series, and devour these books. This one was no exception. It sucks you in, pulling you into a web of drama, glitz, and kooky characters. I think that Dan gets stupider as the books go on, and he should get conveniently killed off for the next book, and a more interesting character take his place. I'm glad to see that Nate and Blair finally take it to the next step, because that was getting pretty lame. I'm surprised with the college letters, and think that the whole Serena/Blair/Nate/Yale thing is ridiculous. By that, I mean who does and doesn't get in.

Summary: Not as good, but still addictive!
Review: I LOVE the entire Gossip Girl series, but I found the latest book in the series a bit lackluster, especially in comparison to its predecessors. It was still a good read though. They finally settled the Blair and Nate thing, but I found that they didn't really develop Serena's character. So she falls in love with several guys, but whats new? I was also annoyed that Blair did not only not get into Yale, but any other Ivy League's! She's an excellent student, tries much harder then Serena. Does S even get good grades as far as we know? I thouht that was unfair to her character, especially with her life coming apart at the seams. I think that, or at leat hope, she gets in based on being wait - listed.

Overall though, I find that just because the series is a hit, each book is covering a shorter span of time, as if to drag it out.

Still addictive though!!

Summary: Gossip Girl- Your the onne that I want
Review: I was very happy with the 6th gossip girl. I was so impressed. Usually series like this get pretty boring and pointless after the first few, but the 6th one was probably one of my favorites! She writes in such detail and she never forgets the un-solved stuff (hint, hint, Blaire being a virgin, her and Nate getting back together...). The only thing was that i got so into it that when it ended I was so disapointed. It seemed to have been so short because she writes like a chapter based on the timeline of an hour. But if you read the first gossip girls I definitly recommend reading this one. Its great. Jenny finally gets over Nate, and picks up a new hobby. Her and Elise finally stop being friends(finally, I hate Elise!). Blaire and Serena got there many college applications back. Blaire's mom has the baby... early! And Nate gets the guts to get back together with Blaire. And so much more gossip awaits inside....

Summary: Great, but some things need to change
Review: I've been a Gossip Girl Fan since the very beggining. I own every book the day or the day after they come out and read the entire thing that same day. I thought this was a great book and all but there are 2 characters that make me very unhappy. Dan and vanessa, or whatever the hell her name is. Reading about them Bores me to tears, sometimes i think that after reading a chapter about them i might cry to death. Crying not in a happy or sad way, i mean crying as in "This Chapter is sooo bad, Kill me now!" (not litteraly) So, If syou want to make this book more enjoyable, ditch those horrible, terrible, awful characters and stick to the ones that we buy your books to read about! Please don't waste any more paper on the num-skull stupid faces!

Summary: A Fun Read
Review: Okay, I admit that I hate whiney, high-school girl books, I prefer books with a tight, energetic plot, and too many characters just dilute the whole thing. So why do I like the Gossip Girl books? In case you haven't read one yet, gossipgirl.net is a website hosted by an anonymous high school girl (?) in which she relates current gossip about her fellow students (who are identified only by a first initial,) and answers e-mail questions sent in by her readers. Each posting is followed by a chapter relating the activities of these students. In "You're the one that I want" the seniors have sent in their college applications, anxiously await their acceptance or rejection letters, and decide where to go after graduation. Romance and friendships form, dissolve, and re-form. Even though the cast of characters is large, their individual personalities shine through and one wants to know how their lives will unfold. While this is not deathless literature, it most certainly is a fun read.

Summary: To Ros
Review: Open your eyes, whoever you are! If you find this book boring, you obviously can't read beyond what's written -- and that's sad. HOW can this book be boring? It's like a literary soap opera! The constantly-changing relationships von Ziegesar creates are intriguing. Each character is full of depth. Anyone with half an emotion can see that Blair's shallow, bitchy behavior is attributed to her chaotic home life, misunderstanding mother, fat stepfather, and the fact that her best friend slept with her boyfriend. Von Ziegesar bases all of these characters on people she actually knew, so don't think it's some figment of imagination. And next time you have a stick up your ass about something like this, you should really pull it out. People would like you more. Kisses!

Summary: Sooooooooo not gonna happen!
Review: The events in this book made me wanna tear my hair out! I mean--- the only good thing about Blair is that she is a good student. But she really doesn't get into any colleges! That Serena girl, who already has everything, gets into every college too! This is soooo unfair to Blair, don't you agree? I wonder why Blair didn't get in anywhere. And why Serena gets in everywhere. This makes me think that Serena is GOSSIP GIRL since she could've wrote her admissions essay and said that she did this Gossip Girl website and that's a pretty cool thing so the colleges let her in. But really-- will Blair and Yale ever be resolved. And what about Blair and Nate? I don't see them happily ever after cuz of Blair's insecurities and controlling behavior. But I would be crushed if Blair lost her virginity only to be dumped by Nate again. That will be tooo cruel on the girl who tries really hard but gets into nowhere for college and whose family life is so messed up.

Summary: Gossip Girl is for idiots
Review: Ugh! The whole series is a waste of time. I read a lot and can usually enjoy everything I read, but these books are terrible. The author should be ashamed to even be alive. It's embarrassing to think about how many people actually think these books are good. People always say they get guilty pleasure from reading these books, but you shouldn't feel guilty about reading a book. Check out some other books. You'll be surprised what you can find. And no I'm not talking about some lame Harry Potter book. Try the Mates, Dates Series by Cathy Hopkins or My Cup Runneth Over by Cherry Whytock.
