Squanto and the First Thanksgiving (Rabbit Ears-a Classic Tale)

Summary: Beautiful but disappointing
Review: This book is beautifully illustrated but I found the language difficult for some of my students. The writing does not flow well and detracts from the wonderful story. For example: "And when the corn of many colors ripened in its ear, drawing the hungry crows, it was the job of the children of the village to chase them away. One could hear their young voices mingling with the jaded caw-caw of the crows in the field." Also the text is not an exact match of the tape. I did not even care for it as a read aloud. There is a lot of historical information however.
