Summary: Excellent
Review: At the beginning of a quartet of books starring Katie, the running champ that steals the pages of this book, Katie is plagued with a fatal heart disease. She won't survive without a heart transplant... and how many people have spare, healthy hearts to pass up? Despite getting a good transplant, Katie is down in the dumps. Will she ever run again? Will she reject the transplant? Then Katie meets Josh... she's more connected to him then meets the eye. Read this book! It's another one of McDaniel's fabulous books.

Summary: it changed my life
Review: I believe that some of the books I read as an adolescent have truly shaped my outlook on life as an adult, and few more so than this book. I picked it up by happy accident at a garage sale, and was immediately hooked on this author. Even though I still consider this one to be the best, I also loved all her others. This made me more sympathetic to people with illnesses where before they tended to make me uncomfortable. It also made me realize that I wanted to be an organ donor, and that I needed to tell my family this, in case something happened to me. Though I'd prefer to be using my own organs for a long time, if something happens to me, then it is a very great comfort to me to know that my death could mean life to others. If I have children, I will be sure to encourage my girls (or boys, though they probably wouldn't dig them) to read these books, because I think if more people read these then more people would become organ donors, and in turn more people would live.

Summary: Wow what a Book!
Review: I found this book to be really good. It tells a story of a girl who needs a new heart. The young girl's name is Katie. She is strong willed girl with lots of spirit. To her amazement another young person with a good strong heart dies. As sad as it is to Josh (the brother of the donor). It is an unfortunate yet welcome occurrence to Katie and her family. Katie is/was a runner and because of her bad heart she had to stop running. Yet, with a new heart and lots of determination Katie and her doctors knew she could once again have a chance at running. While in the recovery room she has a very welcomed visitor, it's Josh. Katie is intrigued to learn about her heart and who it had belonged to. When Katie reveals her plans to run again Josh decided to help her both emotionally and physically. And with both Katie's and Josh's hard work and determination Katie reaches her goal and goes on to win the gold. From start to finish of this book there are things that occur that will make you smile and cry. Katie proves the a little hard work and determinationcan help you do what ever you want.

Summary: One Last Wish
Review: I've read quite a few books in the One Last Wish series and along with She Died Too Young, this one is my favourite. It is very realistic and with very believable characters. The story just takes you along with it. The main character in this book is Katie who desperatly needs a heart transplant after a virius has severly weakened her heart. It switches between scenes with Katie and Josh, who's brother Aaron dies and ends up being Katie's donor. After her transplant Katie had to fight to become a track runner again. I like the ending of this book because it doesn't all end 'happily ever after' but it's inspiring and uplifting. I recommend this book to anyone.

Summary: Someone Dies Someone lives a heart warming story
Review: Someone Dies, Someone lives, Is a great book it kept me hooked on to each word till the end of the last page. Its weird how a death can make a huge impact on two people. Aaron's death might have been good for both Katie for keeping her alive with his heart and heart breaking for Josh for loosing his only brother who got him as far as he is in life. This book is a type of book that will keep you guessing till the end.

Summary: Someone Dies, Someone Lives- A Story of Hope
Review: The book Someone Dies, Someone Lives is the first in a series about Katie O'Rourke. Katie is a teenager who is in need of a heart transplant, she is also an athlete and loves to run. Without the help of a new heart Katie will not be able to run to compete in order to get into a school on a athletic scholarship and eventually maybe run in the olympics. Katie meets Josh, he also enjoys running and soon becomes her friend, but there is more than friendship between them, there is a connection because when Katie received her transplant, the heart that she got was from Josh's brother. The two soon realize that they are in love with each other and that Josh's brother brought them together. This book is written by Lurlene McDaniel and is one of her best. To find out more about Katie and Josh read the sequels to this book.
