Summary: Ten stars
Review: This is an adult's review: I give this book ten stars. It kept me stunningly well entertained for two nights. The only reason I didn't finish it in one day is because I have to work. As it is, I lost a bit too much sleep. This book really satisfied not only my need for a good story but also my need for an intricate and amazing plot. My only concern would be: Do teens really understand this book? It seems to be written for brainy people. Well, judging from the other reviews on here, there are teenagers who get how amazing The Healers Keep is. I find this strangely encouraging: there really ARE people out there, young and old, connected to a love of books that aren't run of the mill. The Healers Keep is such a book. I'm sure I'll read it several times, which, for a reader like me, is saying a lot.

Summary: if you loved Seer and the Sword, will you like this book?
Review: Those who did not love this book seem to be the ones who loved Seer and the Sword, and were disappointed because this book was different. However, there were plenty of people who loved both Seer and the Sword and this book.
----If you loved Seer and the Sword, you might not like this book because:
1. It has much more magic, and so is less "realistic" fantasy.
2. For some people, the magic part of this book was confusing.
3. Landen and Torina, who you loved in the last book, are not in this book much at all.
4. The characters in this book have different personalities than Landen and Torina did, or seem less developed.
5. In comparison to Seer and the Sword, the plot was slower and/or less interesting and captvating.

---------For those who have or have not read Seer and the Sword:
I myself loved both books equally, and think that anyone who likes fantasy will have no problem with the magic, and that older or better readers will not think the plot is slow, not interesting, or confusing. This book is great for any age, as long as you have a good reading ability. There is not constant action with swords, but that is not a requirement for a good book. I am surprised that someone who likes Lord of the Rings (and I love them, too) thinks this book was slow moving, because the Lord of the Rings books are equally or more slow moving at times. I think the characters are as developed as in the first book, and it is a good thing, not a bad, that Hanley did not repeat her old characters, but was instead able to create original ones. The key to making a good sequel is writing the sequel in a different way, which Hanley has done. If you loved Seer and the Sword, keep an open mind- it's different, and good in a different way.

Summary: Makes you wish you could be part of their world!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: When I read Seer and the Sword I fell in LOVE with Landen, and thought I would always love him best. I still love Landen and always will. But after reading Healer's Keep, I love Jasper. He is the sort of man I would die for. He's sooo brave, and every time he walks into the page my heart started beating faster and faster. The other characters are neat, but I don't think Maeve really appreshiates Jasper until the end. I keep this book under my pillow because sometimes I just have to read certain parts over. I really think you will love this book!!!! The action will get into your mind until you travel in dreams just like they do.

Summary: truely special fantasy
Review: wow there is so much happens in this book. i don't want to summerize events, and don't know if i could do that anyway. i fell in love with jasper, but dorjan is also a great character too. maeve is interesting because she doesn't have a clue about her power until she gradully has to find it. sara is a little irratating the way she follows bern but then she does tell him off really well (i won't tell you how well, read it yourself). the fantasy ideas are neat, everything weaves together. i cried at the end.
