Summary: VAMPIRE KISSES is a wonderfully funny story.
Review:
In the hopelessly small town she calls "Dullsville," sixteen-year-old Raven longs to become a vampire. She stands out among the soccer preps at school with her black nails, her black clothes, and her fascination with Anne Rice.

A haunted mansion in the town has new tenants after being empty for years. A mysterious family moves in, but strange rumors pop up about them all over town --- they don't like garlic, they have a strange accent, etc. Raven particularly longs to be acquainted with the family's seventeen-year-old son who is seen only at night. Readers will enjoy her spying methods, including breaking into the mansion.

Surprises appear in every chapter. For example, Raven dresses preppy on Halloween instead of in her usual black and goes trick-or-treating. She also must take a boring part-time job, where her boss insists she not wear black anywhere and cover herself in pleasant red or pink accessories. Raven still manages to keep her unique style throughout.

Overall Raven is fairly normal, with a best friend, an annoying little brother (called "Nerdboy"), and school dances to attend. She stands up for what she wants, even when it's unpopular, and she even enjoys a little romance with the mysterious Alexander at the mansion --- though it's more exciting than she expects.

VAMPIRE KISSES is a wonderfully funny story. Even non-vampire fans will enjoy this one!

Then a family moves into the old deserted mansion on the outskirts of town. Could there son be a vampire? Is he a a love intrest! Great twist at the end...ages 12-15...

Summary: not quite a vampire book
Review: a pre-P.S. I could have sworn I already reviewed this book!

Well I have to say that this book was absolutly great. It is about a 16 year old reject, Raven, who is, in a sense, obsessed with vampires. She has always wanted to meet a vampire, and one day, her dream comes true.
Now this book is a love story, but not in the general sense of the word. This book, although it is called a vampire book, does not go in depth about vampires(despite this I still loved it).
Although this book has some flaws I can't helps saying that it is one of my favorite books(read it in one day!), and I found I could very much relate to Raven and her dry, sarcastic sense of humor. Together with a very sexy vampire(woohoo!)and the crazy male nemesis(who I have to say, if you have ever read harry potter fan-fics, Trevor is the epitome of Malfoy-ness!dundundun!), this book is a must read.

Summary: Teenage love story
Review: I have to say, this book is great! i'm not a big fan of reading but once i started reading this book, can't put it down! the plot is pretty well develope and so were the characters. Through out the book, i can see how Raven character began to mature more and so does her view about the people around.

the only part that i did not like was the ending. To me, from the summary, it was very predictable. But i did left me hangin there. Once i was done, it was like, "what? that's it?!" i expected a better, more well develope one. Hopefully, there will be a sequel. other than that, this book is a must read!

Summary: Great and enchanting!
Review: I loved this book. I am 15 and I think it captured my level perfectly. It is one of those books that you can either look forward to reading each night or finish it in a day (in my case it was 3 hours). Though the book is about vampires, it manages not to be disgustingly goury, though it does make you enthralled with vampires. Just like the summary on the cover flap promises, there is a surprising twist in the end. VAMPIRE KISSES is basically about a sixteen year old girl named Raven who is very pretty, but has always been into vampires and dressing in black. Everybody thinks she is pretty weird and she only has one friend. When a new family moves into a spooky mansion that nobody but her has dared to go in, she is convinced that they are vampires and her curiousity is peaked by a seventeen year old boy named Alexander who never seems to come out. While trying to solve that mystery, she also has to face dealing with a violent bully named Trevor and the dissaproval of her peers and family. I don't want to give anything away, but all in all this is a very good book. It's a combination of romance, suspense, mystery and of course vampires. Trust me, you will really be surprised by the ending, I know I was and I thought I had the whole book figured out. I would say this book is good for reading levels for ages 12-20. At some parts of the book its great for kids and you think the author is moving towards a younger audience, but then it gets into things like sex and stuff and you change your mind. Don't worry, nothing is too bad or I would not recommend it for 12 year olds. I hope this review helped. Enjoy!

Summary: Vampire Kisses: Nice coming of age novel
Review: In a way Vampire Kisses reminds me of another book, a book called "Stargirl". Which, is one of my favorite books. The reason it reminds me of Stargirl is for two reasons: 1. They both deal with how people react to someone completely out of the norm, and 2. They both tale a heart breaking story of adolescent love.

Vampire Kisses for me, seemed at first a little mediocre, but I think it was just because I wasn't quite used to the writing style, which took me a long time to adjust to. Its quick, dry, and to-the-point. I mean Ellen Shreiber describes things quite well, but in a way that is different than I am accustomed too.

I picked up Vampire Kisses on a whim, I saw it in the book stores, and since I find Vampires intrigueing, I decided to see if they had it at the library since I am poor. hehe ;P So, I went to the library and placed a hold on it. I was reluctant to read it, but once I started reading it, I wanted to keep reading it. But unfortenately I can't read all day. :( So, It took me a few days to finish even though it is such a short novel. I wish that it were longer, it was too short in my opinion. But I guess that meant it was really good, or I would've wished it were shorter or never written. haha

Vampire Kisses is the story of a 16yr girl named Raven, who lives in a dinky town she calls "Dullesville", whom since she was 5yr, has had an obsession with monsters, particularly vampires, and even said she wanted to be a Vampire when she grows up, when asked in Kinderarten. So, for the first 30pages we are introduced to Raven and her escapades as young gothic outcast. She lives in a town where everybody knows everybody pretty much, and gossip goes around like wildfire. She has never had a boyfriend(due to the way she dresses and such), and the only friend she has it just as much of an outcast as her, but for different reason.

Basically Vampire Kisses follows Raven through the most vulnerable part of her life, the middle of her teen years. Its frothy fun, but it has heart too, and a bittersweet end, I did shed a few tears. :( I could empathise with Raven, I've been in the whole outcast position due to being homeschooled, and having 6 siblings which basically = NO MONEY. I felt that some of the lines in here were pretty cheesey, but I can't remember I line right now. Maybe that was the point, I mean I do hear many teens(I'm know I did/do), say some really cheesey or stupid things. Well, if it was the point it, worked. haha

At first, I wasn't feeling the love story between Alexander and Raven, but then it became more believable. I wouldn't say that this was life-changing for me like Stargirl was, but since I don't really believe in comparing things in that way, I wont. Vampire Kisses is a fun story about being who you are when nobody appreciates who you are, and finding solace in something that's potentially dangerous.

I would reccomend this book to anyone that's a teenager basically. I'm 19yrs, and I really enjoyed it.! So, even if you're a bit older, you may still enjoy it, because it doesn't seem so much teenish as other teen novels do.

Anyways, God Bless & ENJOY!!! ~Amy

Summary: A compelling book!
Review: This book was great. I liked the ending, even though it was shocking and very sad!!
Um, yeah, I think this novel is geared more towards teens. Around 15-18 year olds.
I never really gave vampires much thought until I read this book. I absolutely loved it.
Ellen Schreiber as mordantly written a riveting story that is guaranteed to captivate you. Definitely worth the read. Highly recommended.
