Rating: Summary: A Pleasant Read Review: Best Friends for Never; A CLIQUE novel by Lisi Harrison
Those spoiled self-centered rich girls from the Octavian Country Day School are back in another story. Massie still defines herself by her position as school fashion leader and Claire still wants to be a part of Massie's clique. This time, Massie gets permission to throw a boy-girl Halloween party, but only if she gives it jointly with Claire. Will having to work together finally make these girls friends? Probably not. Will the girls find boyfriends? Will they get kissed? And worst of all, will OCD start requiring the students to wear (gasp!) uniforms? Massie needs all of her manipulative ingenuity to combat these roadblocks in her life. A pleasant read.
Rating: Summary: More of the Gossip Girl for the younger set Review: I really enjoyed this book. It was a great sequel to the first one. I read all of the Gossip Girl-esque novels and I've complained that the A-Lists characters aren't appealing enough, but no complaints of that here. Massie rocks. Though Claire does annoy me.Either way the book was a great sequel and I can't wait for Revenge of the Wannabes.
Rating: Summary: humm...... i don't know Review: It was good! not really as good as the first one but it was good. The plot was exciting but not a page turner. I still wanna read book 3.
Rating: Summary: The clique continues!! Review: The second of the series, Best Friends for Never was similar in quality to the first book: A poorly written, with little content novel, that still keeps me turning those pages! Of course, this is not a classic piece of literature, but fun to read all the same. While some of the other reveiwers claimed that the scenerio was unrealistic, take it from me, a middle school kid living in a similar, wealthy suburban town- this kind of thing happens all the time. However, I did feel that Harisson wasn't consistent with the maturity of the characters. For example, Massie wore Jimmy Choos regularly but had just begun wearing a bra...? Sure, some seventh graders do wear Choos (disgusting, but yes it happens), and some seventh graders have just begun wearing bras (also a little late) but the two instinces are not usually found together! A few years ago I read "The Girls" another novel thats very similar but not as up-to-date (it was written in 2000) and better written. Over all, if you're a fan of junky books like Gossip Girl or A-List, the Clique is a younger version for pre-teens.
Rating: Summary: the clique good or bad? Review: This book is about the lives of four girls aka the clique, which consists of massie (the leader of the group), alicia, dylan, and kristin and how they rule at OCD (their middle school). In this book, the second in the series, the clique is slowly falling apart and claire (the new girl living in massie pool house)is just itching to get in. The fact that Kristen and Dylan are after the same guy is making it hard for the clique to stay together, but when alicia leaves the group and finds a new best friend the two new "it" groups at school are just waiting for total dictatorship. This is a pretty good book and you are likley to enjoy it if you like the A-list and Gossip Girl series. You may also find this book the most appealing if you are from 12-15 years old.
Rating: Summary: A Great book Review: this book was great, but i think i liked the first one better. these books are so easy to read and i read 100 pages of this book the day i bought it. the characters are mostly stuck up snobs and even though i cant relate them to me , i can definittly relate to certian people at my school. its a very easy to read book but i like this because its not trashy and doesnt talk about sex and drugs like some of the books that i hae tried to read
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Book! Review: This book was truely one of my all time favorite books because it related to my school and neighborhood. It really opened my eyes and made me think about my life in a different perspective than I usualy do. I highly recomend this book to middle or high school students around the ages os 11 - 16. I hope many people read this book!
Rating: Summary: absolutely pathetic Review: With the release of Gossip Girl came the releases of several, colorless 'spinoff' type series (i.e The A-List, The Au Pairs, so on). And this is absolutely the WORST. The characters are disgusting to read, and Claire is so unbelievably annoying it makes me want to rip my hair out in frustration. Not to mention the plot is so one-sided it can barely stand on its own two feet. Fans of "Mean Girls" supposedly flock to this book, when they really shouldn't -- this is stupid, dumb, and absolutely pointless. Save your money on something actually worth it.
