Summary: Great Story for Young Adults!
Review: Don't You Dare Read This, Mrs. Dunphrey, by Margaret Peterson Haddix is a great story that any young adult should read. The story is about a brave young girl who does everything to protect her brother and mom against the cruelty of her father. At her young age, she learns to confront the problems of the real world and is forced to be responsible for her house and little brother. She is put in a situation where she can't tell her secrets to anyone, the only option she has is to let everything out on a journal. She shares her every thought, plan, and reality with the journal she had to turn in to her teacher. Sweat and chills would go through her body every time she had to turn in her special journal; her journal of secrets. But in the end she and her little brother were able to survive the harsh conditions they went through and their lives made a sudden change that led them to happiness; for once. I learned a lot from this harsh situation, and by the way Margaret sequences the events it makes it an exciting story that you don't want to stop reading.

Summary: Don't You Dare Read This Mrs. Dunphrey
Review: In the book Don't You Dare Read This Mrs. Dunphrey is written by Marget Peterson Haddix. I like this book because it had a good moral to the story. In this book one of the main characters is Tish Booner, she is one of those girls that have big hair, who sits in the back of the classroom passing notes. In her English class she has to warite 3 journal entrys a week for Mrs. Dunphrey. In this book every page is writen as if it was real jounal. Mrs. Dunphrey let her students choose if they wanted her to read it, but in every teens life they have to deal with school work, and a home life too. In Tishes case she had to keep her friends. My opinion about this book is that Tish's family is making Tish grow up ti fast, and making her loose her child hood. After I read this book I felt very happy about my life!

Summary: Don?t you dare read this Mrs.Dunphrey
Review: This book is really good. Haddix has got to be one of the best authors ever. This book is very realistic to a real diary.

Tish faces issues that a girl her age shouldn't have to face. She takes up a responsibility that she shouldn't have until she's much, much older. But she thinks she can handle it all on her own, and she won't let any of her friends or teacher's know what's up.

This is a compelling novel. It's very short, but definately worth reading. I've recommended it to all of my friends. It's a GREAT book.

Summary: One Of My Favorites!
Review: This book was so Awesome. It's such a page turner you'll finish the book before you know it. When Mrs. Dunphrey announces that the class will start their own journal. Tish Bonner feels she has nothing to write about. When she does finally write she writes about her friends, school, and family issues. Which she soon writes "Don't You Dare Read This Mrs. Dunphrey" on all her journal entries. When she finally lets Mrs. Dunphrey read one. Tish feels 90% better at the end. I like the story because it's so descriptive. Margaret knows her characters!

Summary: Do Read This!
Review: This is a story of how a seventeen year old girl deals with the neglect of her parents. Her dad is in and out of her life and her mother stays very depressed and eventually abandons the family. Tish takes full responsibility of caring for her little brother, Matt. Her life becomes extremely hard to handle, and she finds an emotional outlet through journal writing, a daily assignment required by her English teacher, Mrs. Dunphrey. Mrs. Dunphrey has told the students that she will not read any journal entry marked "Do not read." Tish keeps her journal faithfully, but rarely allows Mrs. Dunphrey to read it. Tish's life becomes filled with growing anxieties and she finally allows Mrs. Dunphrey to read her journal.

This story reflects many problems that teenagers with abusive parents may face. It also lets readers know there are people to turn to when dealing with a situation of this nature. We recommend this book for seventh or eighth graders. Teachers could use this book in their classroom to teach or study issues such as: neglect, abuse, depression, occupations, and family structures. These issues could be integrated when teaching Language Arts, Social Studies, Writing, Health, and Math. This is a good book for teenagers to read. It relays the importance of talking to someone when your problems become too overwhelming.

Summary: Grateful For Your Life
Review: This is a wonderful book. Now I'm not much of a book worm, but I do like to read at times. I am mainly into some horse books. But, I can get into a non horse book, if I try. My school teacher asked us to read this book. And I am glad that she introduced me to this book. After reading this book, I now realize that not everyone's life is so perfect. People have tons of problems in school, and out. And sometimes, we don't even know about it. They hide it from you. I can relate, because I myself, have a secret. But it's not like Tish's.

You can learn alot from this book. And also learn alot about yourself. My quote to you is, "Never hold yourself in. Write it down, or tell someone about your problems. Before it's to late."
