Summary: The Best Book I've Ever Read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: 'The Cheater' by Cassandra Day is a remarkable new book, and Hannah Nelson, at Shipley Junior Books, is thrilled that she has been given the chance edit it. What she doesn't know is that Cassandra Day--the up-and-coming novelist--and her agent--Zee Zee Reisman--are both twelve-year-old girls! In fact, those two twelve-year-old girls are Hannah's daughter, Natalie Nelson (Using the pen name Cassandra Day) and her best friend, Zoe Reisman. They and their favorite English teacher, Ms. Clayton, have thought up a master plan to get Natalie's book, The Cheater, published. And they aren't giving up, despite many problems that they face along the way, including the fact that they are only twelve.

This a great, Great, GREAT, Truly Great book!!! I just felt that it was a tad unrealistic that a sixth-grader would write a book so wonderful it would have everybody stirred up about it--Every single person who read it exclaiming over how great it was. That was my only complaint about the whole book. My teacher read it to our class a chapter a day and it took forever! I was always tempted to go out and buy the book myself so I could see what happened next! I would reccomend this book to anyone, especially any kid who wants to be an author when they grow up. Or maybe sooner. (Like me)

Review: A SCHOOL STORY
BY: ANDREW CLEMENTS
REVEIWER: KEVIN WHITE, 11years old, born in Columbus, ohio

A school story by: Andrew Clements is the third book in a series that talks about kids and how they act when something big comes along. This books genre is a little adventure and a little mystery. To me this book was very interesting. It is about a kid named Natalie and her friend Zoë trying to hide their identity and write book, publish it and sell it in the real world and not get caught. This book takes place in the busiest part of New York, almost right in the middle of it.

The characters are Natalie, Zoë, Hannah, and lethal. The more specific settings are home, school, and Shipley junior books. I thought it was a great book and I gave it three stars.

Summary: A Reach for the Stars Writer
Review: A talented writer, Natalie Nelson, just trying to keep a secret, expeditions through the teeming city of New York. This girl, inspirational, determined, and I would have to also say valiant, composes a life-like story and wants to get it published. Her best friend, "Zee Zee" Reisman, reads her story and she thinks it is so brilliant that she slithers around New York with Natalie to try and get Natalie's book, 'The Cheater', published. Everywhere from slyly getting her timorous teacher, Ms. Clayton, to help them, making phone calls to "important" people, venturing to an office supplies store, and, best of all, sneaking into a publishing office, Shipley Junior Books, Zee Zee, Zoe, is definitely unwavering to get Natalie's book to a special editor, Natalie's mom.

Natalie's mother, Hannah Nelson, is an editor at Shipley Junior Books and a very good one. Natalie wants her mother to read her book, but has a few questions first.

Natalie explores Hannah Nelson's, her mom's, office and asks her many questions about where books go, what the steps of publishing were, and which stories her mom usually looks at first. She asks all of these questions with her mom not even the tiniest bit suspicious. She just told her she was a little curious. To make it even more interesting she makes up a pen name to keep under cover: Cassandra Day. Her mom would think the book was a joke if she told her that she wrote it.

This new writer, Cassandra Day, is the talk of the town and people of all ages are tingling to snatch her story, including the editor in chief, Letha Springfield.

This may seem simple, but getting such a great story past the eyes of the overpowering chief of Shipley Junior Books can be pretty tough. It seems that some people just won't go away, like mosquitoes, but that doesn't stop Zee Zee, their English teacher, and an anxious Natalie Nelson. The adventures are tense as Natalie keeps the book a secret from her mom. Will they succeed?

It's not just the adventure. It's also the touch that this book brings to your heart. It makes you feel your family can be brought so much closer together with just one thing, even if it's not publicity, though this isn't that type of case. To me anyone that can bring tears to their mother's eyes is one phenomenal writer. But, Natalie's mom didn't even know that her daughter wrote it and her Hannah Nelson cried.

If you love this rousing book you may like 'Frindle', 'The Landry News', and 'The Janitor's Boy'. Try them. I know I'm going to.

'The School Story' is one definite 5 star book right off the top. This girl is one good secret keeper, exceptional writer, and incomparable inspirer.

Summary: Just wonderful!!
Review: A writer myself, I found SCHOOL STORY a wonderful read; a compelling page-turner, and, in short totally delightful -- and absolutely Spot On about the world of publishing. The characters are terrific and and loved all of them; I wish I were Zoe! I absolutely adored this book and am recommending it to all the writers, editors, and agents I know.

Summary: Clements does it again with another captivating novel
Review: Andrew Clements has once again written a great book. This particular one describes the life of Natalie Nelson, a 12-year old girl who wrote a excellent book. Her best friend Zoe Reisman believes the book can be published, and she thinks Natalie's mother, who happens to be a publisher, whould do it.

As with Mr. Clement's previous books for middle-aged kids, The School Story describes how one person can change many things. It is easy to relate to Natalie, as there are many young aspiring writers who have written short stories. Read this book, along with Mr. Clement's others, and you won't be disappointed.

Summary: A School Story
Review: Andrew Clements has outdone himself with this book. A more-than-worthy successor to his previous books set at schools, The School Story is full of clever scenes of children outsmarting adults in ways that savvy readers will enjoy immensely. The stars of this book are the brash Zoe, and the nifty premise. I'll be reading this aloud to my elementary-school classrooms for years to come. Perfect for 3-6th graders, and all the adults I'll be passing it on to.
