Rating: Summary: Funny Bones Review: Alex "Skinnybones" Frankovitch is a memerable character from one of my favorite books as a young adult. Barbra Park delivers a story about a young boy who feels out of place and uses humor as a defense. This book still makes me laugh out loud, and I think children of all ages can relate to Alex because he is the underdog that always see to get himself into some kind of trouble. I am studying to be an elementary teacher and I planning on reading this book to my class because I know I will enjoy it as much as they will!
Rating: Summary: A great childrens story to help deal with real life problem Review: Barbara Park wrote this ingeniuse plot for Skinnybones. The story is about a kid named Alex who has a lot of problems that he has to deal with in the story. One of his biggest problems is that he is a lousy baseball player and a great pitcher named T.J. Stoner bulleys him about it. And at the end of the story Alex finaly gets a change. THats all I can tell you for now the Denver Bronco football game is about to start.
Rating: Summary: Skinnybones is one of the best books to start off the year Review: Every year I read it aloud to my sixth grade class. On almost every page there is something funny that happens and keeps the children entertained throughout it. At the end of every year we vote on their favorite book , and this one always wins. I recommend it to anyone teaching 4th -6th grade
Rating: Summary: Skinny Bones Review: I gave this book a three because it is a good book and very funny. This book is about a boy named Alex playing baseball. Everytime Alex goes to school or Little League a kid named T.J always wants trouble with Alex. I enjoyed reading the book, but, baseball is not really my sport, That's why I gave this book a three. If baseball was my sport I would give it a better rating like a four. ....
Rating: Summary: Absolutely enjoyable Review: I had to read this book for a college course. I didn't think it would be a favorite of mine-- but I was wrong. It took one page and I was hooked. Alex Frankovich's humor reeled me in instantly. I think the author does an excellent job of describing the everyday concerns of students, in a humorous way.It took me one evening to read this book. I can't wait to read another book by Barbara Park. I recommend this book for people who would like a million laughs.
Rating: Summary: can get anyone to read Review: I have a twelve year old that hates to read. I bought this book for him in yet another desperate attempt to interest him in reading. He read it in a couple of hours! He couldnt put it down and laughed the whole time he read. He now loves Barbara Park and has asked for more of her books.
Rating: Summary: Skinny Bones Review: I like Skinny Bones. It was a good book. I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair. I liked lots of parts and so will you too. One of the funniest parts is when Alex lies to his mother. He tells her the cat dumped the cat food bag on the kitchen floor. The cat was with the mother at the vet. It was funny because he totally messeed up - the cat was with the mother. He was trying to lie and he got caught. If you like baseball this is a good book for you. There is a boy named T.J. who Alex hates. Alex likes baseball but he stinks at it. T.J. is really good and rubs it i Alex's face. That causes many funny scenes in the book too. You should read this book because it's so funny.

Rating: Summary: a real page turner Review: I LIKED THIS BOOK BECAUSE IT IS HILARIOUS. I ALSO LIKED THIS BOOK BECAUSE IT TALKS ABOUT BASEBALL, I LOVE BOOKS THAT TALK ABOUT SPORTS, IT JUST MAKES THEM MORE INTERESTING.MY FAVORITE CHARACTER WAS THE LITTLE BOY THAT WAS SKINNY BECAUSE HE MAKES A BUNCH OF FUNNY JOKES. I ALSO LIKED THE BULLY BECAUSE HE HAS A FAMILY MEMBER THAT IS IN PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL AND HE'S GOOD AT SPORTS. MY FAVORITE PART OF THE BOOK WAS WHEN THE SKINNY BOY WON THE CONTEST ON CAT FOOD. I LIKED THIS PART BECAUSE IT FIT IN THE BOOK AT THE PERFECT TIME AND THERE WAS SOME GOOD JOKES AT THAT TIME IN THE BOOK. THE ENDING WAS GREAT BECAUSE EVERY BODY WAS HAPPY EXCEPT THE BULLY.
Rating: Summary: My book review for Skinnybones Review: I really like the book Skinnybones because I like how everything in the book goes together. I like how Alex Fankovich has his cat throw up on his shoe, all of the jokes he says, like saying his dad is a raisin and his mom is a turtle. I also liked when he was jumping up and down shouting booga booga, poking T.J Stoner in the ribs in front of all the parents which ended up on the sports channel. Also he had a joke and accidently won a contest
Rating: Summary: Great read along! Review: I throughly enjoyed reading this book to my class this year. I laughed the entire time, so did they! It's great for any age, I've used it in both fourth and second grades and it's always a bit hit! This book takes a look at the lighter side of being the underdog as a kid. Skinnybones/Alex is a thrill a minute and Park uses everyday words and phrases that keep everyone rolling! This makes it REAL easy to "get into character" while reading, that's part of why it's so well liked, kids love watching adults act like nuts every once in a while. I highly recommend this one!
