Summary: A review from CHILDREN'S LITERATURE
Review: From Nancy Partridge - Children's Literature: Ms. Thesman has written a seamless novel in this emotionally complex story for young adult readers. Fifteen-year-old Jane goes to her mother's small hometown during summer vacation to help settle her grandmother's estate. When her selfish Aunt Norma and sophisticated cousin Ricki show up, an intriguing plot begins to work its spell. Jane is a quiet girl who plays the violin and has a good relationship with her parents. In spite of herself, and motivated by her desire to meet Carey, a boy with a brilliant smile, Jane sneaks out at night with Ricki to a tawdry amusement park where the tough kids hang out. Both fascinated and repulsed by the manipulative and worldly Ricki, Jane is drawn into a conflict between finding romance and betraying her mother's trust. As a background to this moral challenge, Jane's mother has to deal with unresolved pieces of her own past. Jane's sensitive observations beautifully reveal the emotional undertones of each scene. With boldly drawn characters, realistic dialog, and some very nice descriptive writing, the compelling plot moves confidently to a bittersweet conclusion.

Summary: Good Book but the end was a bit of a dissapointment
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. Throughout the book I was able to identify with most of the characters' feelings. I enjoyed reading about the short summer romance. The ending was a bit sad but it was, at leaste, fairly true to life. Though, I would have enjoyed a happier ending, myself. Overall, a good book!

Summary: My review of "The Moonstones"
Review: The Moonstones was a young romance book about a young girl named Jane. Her grandmother passed away and her and her mother are to clean out the house. This is where the trouble begins. It first starts when her spoiled cousin Ricki and her aunt. They both refuse to work leaving Jane and her mother Amy to do all the work. At night is when the biggest problem starts. Jane and her cousin start sneaking out of the house to go to a sleazy amusement park. Upon arrival, Jane sees someone she saw in town, Carey, and immediatly falls in love. But will her mother's past come back to haunt Jane? Will Jane's betrayal of her mother result in something horrible? My suggestion is to red the book. You'll really like it.

Summary: great book
Review: this is a wonderful book, but at the same time you want to rip it apart. Jane goes with her mother to clear out her grandmother's house, and along comes Aunt Norma and her pitiful daughter, Ricki. neither of them ever bother to help and are always tormenting Jane and her mother. Carey, a boy jane meets at an amusement park, is the only good thing that happens. jane always worries about going to see him, because her mother told her not to go to the amuesment park. this book is great, but i almost cried at the end because it was so sad. it is a good book though, filled with intrigue and family secrets. i give it four stars because of the ending.

Summary: Wounderful book.
Review: This is one of the best books I have ever read. You get hooked on it almost instantly. I think there is only one problem. I loved the ending, but it seemed to open, and not fully resolved. But, besides that, this is the greatest!
