Rating: Summary: An entertaining bit of fluff Review: This was the first Sandra Brown book I've been exposed to, so I was unaware that she generally follows the same blueprint. Since this was my first time, as it were, I didn't mind. I listened to this book while driving across the country, and it was entertaining enough to keep my mind off of some of the relentlessly dull terrain. The main character, an implausibly lucky reporter, is assigned a hot story involving two runaway teenagers. She's headed down to speak to a family member, and decides to stop in a tiny little town for supplies - guess who happens to decide to rob the store? But of course, it's our two wayward teens. As the robbery progresses, things get a bit complex as the young girl goes into labor, forcing everyone to reassess the entire situation. Naturally, the labor isn't an easy one, and things go awry, resulting in a life-and-death situation for a number of characters. The relationships between characters are fairly interesting, and of course the love story is a main feature - the growing attracting between the two main characters keeps a strong undercurrent of romantic tension throughout the story. Enid Graham does a wonderful job narrating - she gives each character his or her own inflections and other speech traits, making it much easier to follow the story, and making it much more entertaining overall; she's excellent. This isn't a great novel, and it isn't a bad one - I wouldn't seek it out again, but it was an amusing way to pass a thousand or so miles on I-94.
Rating: Summary: Not bad, but not great, either Review: This is a Silhouette novel disguised as a bestseller. I read it in a day, literally. The entire story takes place in a gas station and is very fast-paced. It could easily be an episode of Law & Order. Tiel is a reporter headed for a vacation. While stopping for a snack, a story accidentially finds her. Of course, there's an Alpha Male involved, but the way the two get together is a bit contrived. I liked this story, despite the sappy happy ending. Just don't expect too much.
Rating: Summary: Doy!! Review: This is one to leave by the toilet. Sandra Brown needs to look up the word "prone," which in this book she repeatedly and annoyingly uses incorrectly. Pregnant women are never positioned prone. Duh!! Get a real editor.
Rating: Summary: Not Brown at her best but still a good read Review: I have been a fan of Sandra Brown from the beginning of her career and witnessed the change of writing style from complete romance to suspense with a little romance fit in. In this book, the whole story revolves around 1 night in a convience store. Which is very odd for Brown. However, she makes it work somehow. Two teenagers fall in love and run away from the girl's multimillionaire father. You see she is pregnant and her father won't allow her to keep it. Deciding to run away to Mexico, they need cash fast so they decide to rob a convience store. In the store is a star reporter who would do anything for a story, a rancher known as "Doc", a older couple on their honeymoon, a couple of Mexicans who are scary, and a loud mouth clerk. Before the teenagers could take off with their loot, the girl goes into labor and the police and FBI are waiting outside. It's a life and death situation. The rancher "doc" and the reporter help the young couple deliver their baby and calm the couple from doing anything that might harm anyone. The reporter discovers that there are more important things than the big story and the rancher learns a thing or two. Read the story to find out the explosive ending. A good book for the beach.

Rating: Summary: What?? Huh?? Review: I finished this book in 3 hrs and I closed it after I read the last word. What?? I was disappointed... just that. It was a nice read, but i couldnt believe the whole story was taken in a gas station. Not like her other ones.
Rating: Summary: An entertaining way to pass the day Review: Standoff is the story of an ace TV reporter starting out her much needed vacation to a mountain getaway. She hears on the radio that two teenagers, one of whom is kidnapped, are headed towards Mexico. She decides to delay her vacation to get the story. She stops off at a convenience store and while there comes face to face with the two teenagers. One of which goes into labor in the store! The story progresses through the night and into the next day as the hostages and teenagers try to deal with the situation. I thought this story was entertaining. It was suspenseful enough to keep me reading until the end. The ending was a little sugary but that is to be expected from Sandra Brown. I thought the character development and the plot were excellent in this book. It was impossible to guess what was going to happen next. The characters were believeable and well written. This isn't a deep, soul searching book but an entertaining way to pass the day!
Rating: Summary: Don't bother... Review: Another flop by Sandra Brown. She's such a wonderful author too that I find it hard to believe she could publish a book that is so incredibly boring. I usually enjoy her books but this one was a waste of time to read. Sorry... However, if you're looking for a great Sandra Brown book to read, try The Alibi, The Witness, Breath of Scandal or Tiger Prince to name a few. They were all fantastic.
