Summary: When You've done your all, Listen for HIS call
Review: A brutal attack while away in college placed Tonya Henderson in a dilemma that tested her faith in God and everything she trusted and believed in. Raised in a loving two parent home, Tonya was sheltered and protected. Nurtured in this environment, her parents insisted on burying the situation instead of properly helping Tonya come to grips with the occurrence. Coming back to her safe cocoon was her method of dealing with her problems after the vicious act. When He Calls is written in the first person voice of Tonya ranging from childhood to adulthood, she often reminisces on both and the lives of her close friends. It is through these memories that she draws strength to rekindle her spirit.

Denise, Lisa, Sasha and Tonya have been friends since grade school. Each young lady shared experiences with each other. This is how Tonya learned about life especially since her parents didn't discuss these things with her. The intimate details they shared defined their relationship and characters as the book progressed. The closeness developed allowed Tonya an outlet to emerge from her cocoon into a butterfly. As her girlfriends progressed to other avenues, her friendship with Gary matured. He was the first and only love of her life and the romance that blossomed was nothing short of endearing. The patience and slow progression of their relationship should give hope to young people and teach them that growing a love affair from a friendship first is well worth the time and effort. Friendships of all kinds are the central theme to this book. Ms. Gordon-Love explored friendships of all kinds as the central theme

While He Calls focuses on the strength of friendship and the undying belief in God. I'm reminded that God never leaves or forsakes us even when we turn away from Him for whatever reason. This is enforced through the pages of this novel. "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it," Proverbs 22:6. Such was the case with Tonya. Through her storms, When He Calls, she answered. Although written primarily for the teen audience, anyone can garner strength, determination and respect for differences in each other by reading this testament.

Summary: When He Calls Review
Review: I enjoyed this new book by Sharel. It was inspiring, emotional and refreshing to read. It is an inspirational book and makes you think where do you stand with God. It was easy to read and the language was clean not cursing and foul words for a change. The book has a good story line about Tonya and her childhood friends. The trials and temptation they went through while growing up. It showed Tonya having to trust God when she felt like he wasn't there but he was there all the time. It was nice to read the main characters had some morals. This book showed the value of friendship which is nice to have while going through tough opticals in life. I feel it is a book that teenagers, young adults and adults would enjoy. I'm waiting for Sharel to write her next book. Read it and think back when you were young and going up. The title "When He Calls" is just right for the book because when you think God doesn't care and have forgotten about you he hasn't forgotten about you even though we forget about him. If you like books by Victoria Murray and Jacquelin Thomas you will like this author new book.

Summary: A must have for teenagers and parents of teenagers
Review: I found "When he calls" to be closest to reality book that I have read. I definitely saw myself and my childhood experiences in every page. Once you start you will be unable to put it down. This book could easily be consider an instruction manual for parents and teenagers. I really loved reading this novel and I know you will too.

Summary: When He Calls
Review: It started out as a difficult read for me, but When He Calls won me over by the time I had completed it. The difficulty for me was in the flow of the novel. I got confused every now and then with whether I was reading present-day scenes or happenings from the past. This "coming of age" story would be a great read for teenagers, especially girls and I think that I will be recommending it for the youth group at my church. Valueable lessons about the consequences of choices that we make are embedded within the pages of When He Calls and it was a purchase well-made regardless to the flow-problems. I would definitely read another novel by this author.

Summary: I Surrender All
Review: Peer pressure and a Christian upbringing are hard feats to mesh when your best friends are experimenting with sex and boys and your parents dictate your every move. Tonya Henderson has played by the rules so why is her life in shambles? Sharel E. Gordon-Love answers this question and many more in this exceptional novel WHEN HE CALLS.

A brutal attack in a college auditorium is the prologue to this life-altering work of fiction. No one can make sense of what happened or why? Paralyzed by fear, Tonya blames her parents for their rigid rearing and becomes withdrawn, shunning her friends and faith in God. But when her friend, Gary forces Tonya to confront the spirit of shame, guilt and low self-esteem, true healing begins in the form of forgiveness, restoration and deliverance.

WHEN HE CALLS is a heart-warming story of friendship, affliction and absolution. Sharel E. Gordon-Love has created a moving female protagonist and wondrous cast of supporting characters. Reminding us that we are all accountable for our own salvation, Ms. Gordon conveys this message with ease and artistic creativity. A must read for teenagers and adults who are seeking answers to the question, why do bad things happen to good people?

Summary: Page Turner
Review: This book is about 4 young girls, who met in their freshman year of high school and became best friends. The book takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride through their lives. It makes you laugh and cry. A definite page turner. The far different personalities add spice to the book. The story touches on topics of premarital sex, AIDS, and a brutal attack. It was a very good story and brilliantly written. I highly recommend if for all young ladies to read.
God Bless you,
Sharel

Summary: Exellent work Ms. Gordon - Love!
Review: This book was brilliantly put together, and I will recommend it for others to read. I took my time reading the book and I am glad that I did because it actually turned out to become an teachers manual in my life. It helped me with realizing the importance in valuing our friendship at a whole another level, and why I have to stay focused on God at all time. I also thank Him for your talented gift that you have poured out, and I am looking forward to reading a lot more of your work in the near future. Love and God Bless you.
