Rating: Summary: I really liked the book, Ann.M.Martin should write more!!!! Review: The book was excellent. Amailia went through alot. With that mean boy James. Amailia can do a whole lot better than that. I have afriend that is just like Amalia. She had a boyfriend that gave her alot of emotional abuse and I tried my hardest to be there for her. Also, Amailia has really great friends. I mean, how can you have friends that you actually love.
Rating: Summary: BEST BOOK!!! Review: This is the best book I have ever read, i don't have all of the series yet but this is the best so far!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Great Review: Amalia's first diary was good, and I liked it a lot. But it is implied by the reviewers and the summary that Amalia's boyfriend James is abusive. He isn't. James might be emotionally abusive, but he has never hit or touched Amalia. Other than that, the book rocked!!
Rating: Summary: Good Book Review: This Book was good I finished it very little time. The good thing about this series is that you can see view points from differnt characters in the same situation. I also like that the extra personal touch was added to this book with the Amalia's drawings. I Loved it and all the other California Diarie Books I've read so far.
Rating: Summary: TOTALLY AWSOME! MUST READ BOOK! Review: This book was totally awsome because it delt with real teenage problems. Also it was kinda romantic! I would deffinatly reccomand it to any teenager! (excuse my spelling, it really bites)
Rating: Summary: Amilia is so cool........ Review: THIS BOOK IS GREAT. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. I REALLY LIKE HOW SHE'S IN THE BAND. THIS BOOK IS TOTALLY 5 STARS!!!!!!!!!IT'S ABOUT A GIRL NAMED AMILIA WHO'S BOYFRIEND GOES A LITTLE TO FAR. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Amalia is cool Review: This was the fourth CALIFORNIA DIARIES book I read. I read them all in order. I've read the BSC books for a couple years now,a nd a lot of it is unrealistic. These books are real, and they deal with real problems. I find them very interesting, it's so cool that they are written in diary-form. Amalia was a great book! She is so cool. I love that she's in a band.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful not of encouragement! Review: I like Amalia's courage in dealing with her abusive boyfriend. Good thing she dumps him and her friends and sister stood by her! Bravo! It tells girls that no, they do NOT have to put up with abuse. This book was as good as the BSC "Claudia & the Terrible Truth" which was also about abuse. Have Amalia & Claudia met? They should, they're somewhat alike, being artistic and creative and each having an older sister. The California Diaries delve somewhat deeper because it's in a diary form, but the BSC books are just as great. What I like are the first-person accounts that make you feel as if you're right inside the main character's head. Those who claim the BSC are "goody" ought to read deeper. In some ways the BSC books are diarylike.
Rating: Summary: AMALIA IS A "MUST READ" BOOK!!! Review: This book was exciting. This was the first book I ever read in California Diaries. Amalia is da bomb. Her drawing is excellent. I don't know why this James guy was bothering her. And in Amalia's second diary, he is still at it. I think Vanish is a great band. I am glad that most readers likes this book.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Diaries. Review: This book is really good. It's not the "we're a big happy family" type of BSC type stuff. I thought it was great, like all the other California Diaries. This one is a gripping, page-turning story of Amalia, a creative 8th Grader at Vista where she is the new kid. Everything seems perfect- she's got the perfect friends, perfect family and.... perfect boyfriend. Then her boyfriend turns really awful when he gets mad at her over the simplist things, doesn't really listen to her when she tries to explain her side, and basiclly is a real CREEP!! But it gets really bad when he claims he'll die without her. VERY GOOD!
