Rating: Summary: A Great Book Review: Tara Lipinski not only told the interesting story of her life in this book, but it tell and explains a lot about figure skating. I admire all that she has done for her skating. She is one of the best.
Rating: Summary: Tara Lipinski Triumph on Ice. Review: Tara Lipinski's autobiography is about her life and how she became a star. She was born on June 1o,1982. She became a champion when she started taking roller blading lessons. Then a friend came to talk to her mom, about trying ice skating. When Tara tried ice skating, she loved it. But then her dad got a new job in Texas, so they had to move. But her mom and Tara moved back to Delaware. Soon Tara got a new ice-skating coach, Richard Callaghan. Her mom and Tara had to move again to Michigan. In 1996 Nicole Bobek, an ice skater, drop out of the USA Figure Championships because of an injury. Tara won 3rd at the championship. Soon after Tara became the first skater to land the triple loop- triple loop combination. In 1997 at the age of 14, she became the youngest figure to win the World Championships. Tara Lipinski taght me that if you do not give up on your dreams, they will come true.
Rating: Summary: Tara Lipinski writes like a child. Review: Tara's book was written for a child. It seems as though she did not put any real thought into her book. She should get some pointers from Michelle Kwan, who's book, HEART OF A CHAMPION, was exeptional. It was not only interesting, but it was also humorous.
Rating: Summary: Not worth the paper it's printed on. Review: The title pretty much sums it up. I was thinking of some other titles for the review: - Gives new definition to Juvenile Literature - I'm normally against burning books, but this, however, is an exception - Olympic Gold does not equal Literature Gold - Hope a strong wind doesn't come along and blow that cardboard cut-out away Regardless, this "book" should be held as a disgrace to the publishers and to Tara Lipinski herself. The title said it best, it's just not worth the paper it's printed on.

Rating: Summary: Shallow fluff Review: This book is nothing but shallow fluff. While Michelle Kwan's book had considerable more depth and insight, Tara Lipiniski's (ghostwritten?) autobiography is bland and superficical. She writes like a six-year-old and has a very limited vocabulary. As a teenager, I found the book so simple it was as if it was degrading my reading skills. But what can we expect from Tara besides bubbly, childish shallowness, and an attempt to be cute? Her Barbie commercial, huge grin, and ditsy, air-headed, and almost embarrassingly perky attitude are total turn-offs. At her age, she shouldn't be striving to be *cute*. Her only talent seems to be technicality in ice-skating and not much else. This book is a total waste of time and money. It will only be enjoyed by those just as simple-minded and superficial as Tara. For a more fulfilling and inspirational read, pick up Michelle Kwan's autobiography. It radiates the same maturity, grace, and depth that Kwan possesses on ice. Forget Tara. My prediction is that as time passes, Tara will fade and be replaced, while the truly talented, intelligent, and deep (both on and off ice) will remain memorable. Tara's book certainly supports my prediction.
Rating: Summary: "Triumph On Ice" is an EXCELLENT book Review: This book is one of the best I have ever read. It's simple narrative style draws you in and leaves you feeling like you know Tara Lipinksi. It tells of her years growing up including her time as a rollerskater and her transition to ice-skating at age six. Then it goes into detail on both the competitions she has been involved in and her daily life. Emily Costello (co-author) has even included a "Glossary of Skating Terms" and a "Guide to Scoring in Figure Skating." Don't forget the 16 pages of full-color quality photographs, each personally labeled by Tara. This is a must have for all Tara Lipinski fans and I recommend it even for non-ice skating fans.
Rating: Summary: A delightfull book filled with fun info on one great girl. Review: This book talks about everything from what minor "change of plans" got Tara started to how she hopes to win the gold in Nagano (which she did.) Tara tells about her coaches and her parents in fond ways. My personal favorite is in the back where she has a" glossary" to explain moves(in ice skating) and how she tells of her favorite and not so favorite things.Just to let you know she hates mustard and loves frogs. The pictures in this book are also a reason to read this book. From cute baby photos to the '97 Worlds and Nationals you've gotta love it! Tara also describes her best buds, pets, hardships on her parents because of her skating, and her daily schedule. If you read this book, it'll be enough to covert you from Kwan to Lipinski. So come on! Get hooked on Tara and read !!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Charming and interesting! Review: This book was a delightful journey into the life of a young skater who is breaking through to the top of her sport. I loved the information that I gained about the ups and downs of elite figure skating. My favorite thing about the book was how real it made everything seem. Though I consider myself a relatively knowledgable skating fan, this book told me countless things that I had been unaware of previous to reading it. Tara herself is a true inspiration, and this book took me into her life. I loved it! Like I said, it's a truly charming book and I would strongly recommend it to anybody interested in skating.
Rating: Summary: I loved it!!!!! Review: This book was terrific! Tara is so young and yet she wrote like a pro. I read it three times. I didn't want to give it back to my friend. Anyway, I think it is a terrific book. Read it!!
