Review: Christy is a young woman trying to find her purpose in life. She comes to understand the importance of caring for her fellow man in the midst of depravation and heartache. There is also incredible beauty, love and humor in this story. The characters are real. We all need a Miss Alice in our lives. I don't re-read books often, but this one is so good, it is hard not to pick it up and read "just one more time".

Review: I loved Christy because of its storyline. It is an incredible example of a young woman setting out on her to "conquer the world". I can relate to that because I am doing the same thing in my own life. Christy Huddleston is a remarkable character, and she ranks as a wonderful inspiration to young women!

Summary: A captivating lifetime favorite! Appeals to many ages.
Review: The made-for-television movie adaptation of this story first attracted my attention to this book. I read Christy three times in a very short time period - as soon as I reached the end, I simply turned back to page one. Over the years, I've read it many more times. It is the innocent and inspirational story of a young woman who finds love, knowledge, and happiness in her walk with God. The author's descriptions of the characters and rustic Appalachian setting are captivating, and Christy's romantic struggles make it difficult for the reader to set the book aside unfinished. I recommend this book to anyone age 12 years or older, but I especially recommend it to those individuals who truly cherish the joy of "curling up with a GOOD book." Of note, the videos and the juvenile book series based on this story are quite good as well.

Summary: A Totally Terrific Story!!
Review: I've read this book over and over, and still love it!! Christy's struggles with the children she teaches, the mountain people, and the 2 men who love her are intriguing and realistic...even though it takes place 86 yrs ago, the situations and problems are basically just life dilemmas, which happened before, and will for as long as people live. Great love story, with a main character who's so sincere and real=)

She also felt the reality of fear, anguish, human love, and accomplishment. This book holds a part of each one of us and we can relate to her at almost any point in our own lives. This book is a true inspiration to strive for our goals and to never lose hope
