Summary: good book, but can't please everyone
Review: I thought this book was good. But i also have to admit, i picked it up for the first time and put it back on the shelf thinking it wouldn't have enough horses in it. I went back and got it, and loved it. To all those people out there who are complaining that there are not enough horses in it, Ms. Bryant can't please everyone. The characters are not perfect, but not awful. To all you readers, I hope you will give Pine Hollow a try. This book displays teen views and problems in real life, plus it talks about horses. Also for me, if i wanted more INFORMATION about horses, I would just get a real book on horses. I think it is great what Ms. Bryant is doing with her new series. The characters are growing up, so she should write them like they are. Your books are great Ms. Bryant, keep up the good work!

Summary: What HAPPENED?!?!?!
Review: I used to love the saddle club because the stories were always spirit-lifting and TOTALLY about horses. If I couldn't be riding, I'd be reading one of the saddle club books. But eventually, I outgrew them.I was thrilled when I learned about the Pine Hallow series.A horse series for teens!I don't think I have ever been so dissappointed before I read that horrible book.Did B. Bryant team up w/ the writer of Sweet Valley High?!?!She doesn't even MENTION the saddle club. The Long Ride Home is the first & last book in that series that I purchased.SORRY!

Summary: Not as good as the Saddle Club
Review: I was a little disappointed in this first book of the new series. First, I was hoping it would be a llittle more upbeat, it was too sad. Also, I hoped it would spend more time updating the characters. Where was little Maxie? She should be 3 and running around the stable after her father. Otherwise, I liked the story and will continue to read them. I'm glad the three girls are still close and I hope future books focus on the romance btween Lisa and Alex Yokosmom

Summary: HOW COULD THEY!!!!!????
Review: I've been reading the Saddle Club books since I was a kid (now 22 years old). I still read them on occasion, as I'll always have a love for Stevie, Lisa, Carole and all the other characters at Pine Hollow. I found out about the Pine Hollow series, so I bought the first book. From the back it sounds like it starts when Lisa leaves for California (stresses that her relationship might not last the summer), talks about a car accident leaving a girl almost dead... and the prologue confirms that. A good 3/4+ of the book is backstory taking place BEFORE the car accident and Lisa leaving. The car accident finally happens, then there is just one or two chapters after that. Weeks fly by and TONS of important stuff happens and is just skimmed over. I would have preferred more depth to that area of the book, or to have left it out completely. I was interested in the parts about Stevie getting her job and Carole working at the stable. I did find Lisa and Alex's relationship to be kind of unbelievable. I didn't buy in to it at all. Maybe I will after I read more of the books in the series. Overall, not bad - just not what I was expecting from the back of the book.

Summary: A Little Disapointing But Still Okay
Review: I've read the Saddle Club books for years but since I'm 15 they started to seem a little...I don't know..young from me. (This coming from a person who watches Pokemon.) When I found out about the more mature series, I ran out to buy the first book. But when I read it, it just seemed like another one of those teen saga stories with some horses thrown in. I wish someone would create a series about REALISTIC teens who ride. I guess I'll try another Pine Hollow book, but if they're all gonna be dramatic and "teeny" then I'll have to spend my time watching Pokemon, Daria, and Hey Arnold!

Summary: Mrs Bryant How COULD You?????????
Review: It awful! Both the saddle club and even the ponie tails have always been about horses. But this! Anyone who reads either of the above series reads them because they love horses. I don't want to hear about Stevie's love affair with her new car! I HATE the way Lisa is dating Alex. What happened to John Enrico and Skye????? Or did they just dissappear into thin air? If this is the way the saddle club are going to go, I don't want to read it. I don't know weather I want read the Saddle Club anymore after this!!!!

Summary: Wonderful! Thanks Bonnie
Review: It was great, good enough for 10 year olds too.It is a very advanced series. It is too old for 8 years old and under. I reccomend The Saddle Club for 6-13 year olds. If you love horses this is for you.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I can't wait!!
Review: Okay, I admit it. I'm a long-time Saddle Club fan who has also gotten way too old for it. And it's bothered me for years that Stevie, Carol and Lisa never got any older. Hooray -- they're finally growing up. I can't wait for their new adventures!
